    I.T Infrastructure

    The university has an I.T Infrastructure facility. Many students choose to bring a laptop, as it gives them more flexibility about where and when they study. However, this isn’t essential as all the University libraries and most departments have computers you can use for your work. You can use our FindAPC service to locate an available computer.

    Students have many options for food and drink on and near the campus. The options are multiple for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with options like halal, vegan, and vegetarian, and also keep in check with their allergy requirements. Students can check out The Edge Bar for club or nightlife a break from the stressful academic life.

    The University has a campus-wide network of printers that you can use to scan, copy and print - meaning you don’t need to bring your own. All University computers are directly connected, and there is also a web app so you can print straight from your personal device. Then you can collect it from any printer on campus with a swipe of your student card. 



    The University of Sheffield is invested in the health of its students. The university provides around 350 societies and sports clubs to join. The societies to join include the African Caribbean Medics society, Anime society, SócCatalà society, speech, and language technology society Taoist Tai Chi society, Wargames society, and yoga and pilates society. The sports clubs include the American football club, Archery club, Badminton club, Dodgeball club, and Lifesaving club.

    For fitness, the university has a fitness suite, that consists of a gym at Allen Court, and fitness classes that include indoor cycling, body pump, LBT, cardio conditioning, yoga, and Zumba.

    The university has ‘Get Active’ ‘Performance sport’ and ‘Residence sports’ for students living at the residence halls. These give students the chance to have great fun and healthy activities, both on and off campus.


    Transport Facility

    Sheffield has an extensive public transportation network that extends beyond the city center and suburbs into South Yorkshire, Derbyshire, and the Peak District via buses, trains, walking, cycling, and taxis to get around. 

    The students who wish to travel can check the university website- for additional information regarding the journey planner for trains, buses, and trams. Students traveling can apply for discounted tickets and rail users between the age of 16 and 25 can get a ⅓ discount on train tickets with a Young Person's Railcard. There are other discounts and offers available through TOTUM, so be sure to check them out.

    Students are provided accommodation in UK on campus and can check out off-campus too. The accommodation for students is at ‘The City’ and at ‘Ranmoor or Endcliffe’. The City accommodation has many facilities like ‘The Allen Court’ building which has a common room, cinema room, games room, and a customer services reception. The City has different types of rooms available like en-suite, standard, deluxe, and studio 300. The prices range from £6,000.00 to £10,210.62.

    The Ranmoor has many facilities like Village Store, The Edge Hub, The Edge Bar, Launderette, Residences Fitness Suite, and Ridge common room. There are different types of rooms for students from the en-suite, standard, deluxe, studio, and houses in the range of £3,436.68 to £9,189.18.
