About BE Hons Design Engineering
BE Design Engineering is a comprehensively designed programme by Department of Design Engineering and Mathematics of Middlesex University for the students aiming to make a career in the field of Design Engineering. The BE Design Engineering curriculum includes the basic design competencies, engineering design methodologies, project management approaches, prototypes for various engineering design process phases, evaluation and optimization of design solutions, and manufacturing process optimization. The most recent engineering systems present both potential and difficulties. With a design engineering focus, this program develops problem-solving techniques, practice-based learning strategies, and working methodologies for designing and implementing such systems in real-world projects.

Eligibility
Before applying to the BE Design Engineering programme at Middlesex University, the applicants must read the eligibility criteria carefully. There are standard entry requirements for UK applicants and separate requirements for applicants from other countries. Along with the minimum entry requirements, other things are also taken into account.
Standard Entry Requirements for UK Applicants
- The applicants must have secured 112 UCAS Tariff Points including GCSE Grade 4/C in English and mathematics.
- The applicants must have secured a BBC including a C or above from a numerate subject or physics in A levels OR
- The applicants must have secured a DMM in a numerate or science subject in BTEC(Level 3 National Extended Diploma).
OR - The applicants must have secured a total of 112 UCAS tariff points in a combination of A-Level, BTEC(Level 3 National Extended Diploma) and other accepted qualifications. The list of accepted qualifications can be found in ‘General Entry Requirements’ under ‘Entry requirements for undergraduates’ at www.mdx.ac.uk/study-with-us/undergraduate/entry-requirements-for-undergraduates.
OR - The applicants must be overall passed in Access HE Diploma and must include 45 credits at level 3, of which all 45 must be at Merit or higher.
Minimum Academic Requirements for Indian Applicants
The applicants must have secured a minimum 55% or above from a Local Board Examination or its equivalent.
English Language Requirements for International Applicants
The applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
IELTS Academic- 6.0 (with minimum 5.5 in all components)
65% or above in class 12 from all Indian boards except Punjab and Haryana boards
Pearson Test of English- 59 overall (with 59 in all components)
TOEFL (IBT)- 72 (with at least 17 in listening & writing, 20 in speaking and 18 in reading)
Cambridge First, Advanced, Proficiency (taken post January 2015)- 169 overall (no less than 162 in each component)
Trinity College (ISE only)- ISE II as evidence of all skills in English (B2)
The applicants who do not meet any of the above criteria must successfully complete the Pre-sessional English course of Middlesex University.
