All candidates applying from India must meet the below-mentioned requirements to be considered eligible for admission to the University of Waikato. 

For undergraduate programmes

  • Applicants must have an average of 75% in the best four academic subjects in the Indian School Certificate (ISC), or the All-India Senior School Certificate (AISSC), and selected state boards, which includes Maharashtra, Karnataka, West Bengal with a minimum of 60% in English. Or 

  • The candidates must have an average of 80% in the best four academic subjects in all other state boards, with a minimum of 65% in English.

For Master’s degree

  • Applicants should have a recognised bachelor's degree with a B-/B/B+ average, and a B-/B/B+ average in a relevant subject (if required).

  • They must meet the specific programme requirements. 

  • Some programmes might require an honours degree.

English Language Requirements 

Candidates seeking admission to the University of Waikato must meet the English language requirements for their selected course if English is not their first language. To fulfil these criteria, students must appear for the IELTS indicator or Duolingo test. For the DET test, students must have a score of 95 for pre-degree programmes, 105 for undergraduate or graduate programmes, and a DET score of 120 for postgraduate programmes (excluding doctoral programmes).
