About Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine

The establishment of the Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine dates back to 1934 when it was named Guangxi Provincial Nanning District Medical Research Institute. It was later renamed Guangxi College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the year 1958 after its re-establishment in 1956. Again in the year 1970, it was renamed and was called Nanning Medical College. It was March 2012, when the institute was formally upgraded as the Guangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Covering a total area of 1310.99 mu (873774.835 square meters) the Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine has 2 campuses, namely, Xianhu and Mingxiu. The departments at this institute include the Academy of Orthopedics, Academy of Acupuncture and Tuina, Zhuang School of Medicine, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Zhuang School of Medicine, and others. The institute is famous for its traditional Chinese and ethnic medicine disciplines, moreover, it also aims to bring together the development of other disciplines such as medicine, science, engineering, and management.

Apart from the university, the city itself is quite aesthetic and has adequate facilities. The cost of living at the Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine includes various expenses, from tuition fees to accommodation, meals, and transportation. Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine Admission and Application

The admission process at Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine is quite simple. Physical presence in the application process is not even mandatory. You can either download the application forms from the official website of Guangxi TCM University or obtain it directly from the university.

How to apply to the Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine?

  •  Submit the application form through fax, email, or post the completed form along with the required documents to the university. 
  • An application fee of 400 RMB yuan will be paid upon application.  
  • On receipt and acceptance of your application, the applicant will receive a “Notice of Admission” and a Visa Application for Study in China form.
  • Further, the received forms should be submitted to the Chinese Embassy or Consulate General for a student’s Visa “X” or an academic visit Visa “F”.

Application Procedure and Required Materials for Applying to the Scholarship Programme:

    • A photocopy of a passport is also required.

    • A notarized photocopy of your highest diploma and the score sheet should also be included along with other documents. 

    • All the documents are supposed to be in Chinese or English and if not, those must be attached with translations in either of the languages.

    • One also has to submit a study or research plan in Chinese or in English in no less than 200 words.

    • Foreigner Physical Examination Form in its original version with complete records is also mandatory to be submitted.

    • Three passport photos should not be older than 6 months.

    • Two recommendation letters, written by professors or associate professors for those who apply for the master's programs.

    • The applicants should assemble all the required documents and deliver them to the Faculty of International Education of GXUCM. The mail should be marked Guangxi Government Scholarship Program on the cover and it is better to choose Express delivery.

Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine Eligibility

One must be eligible to be accepted by the institution. Apart from the required qualifications and language skills, Chinese institutions generally admit candidates on the basis of moral and cultural decencies. They also check for your health certification.

Here are the criteria mentioned for admission to the Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine:

  • Completion of higher school education is mandatory for undergraduates and the applicant is required to provide supporting documentation. 
  • Masters applicants should have completed a Bachelor's Degree in medical science at an approved medical educational institution or a diploma in medical science. 
  • Masters applicants should also have a minimum of two years of clinical experience in medicine and the applicant is required to provide supporting documentation.
  • Chinese Language skills are needed for undergraduate students and are mandatory to be fluent in Chinese. There should be a pass on the level six Chinese proficiency test (HSK) for undergraduate students. The undergraduate student can either have a certificate in Chinese language training. However, for those students who lack Chinese language skills, a 1-2 years Chinese Language course can be provided. 
  • While Graduate courses are supported by an English-speaking interpreter service for Non-Chinese-speaking students, so master's and part-time master's candidates need not have Chinese Language Skills, however, it surely is beneficial when one has to live there. 
  • Health Certification is also needed. A laws-abiding person (of the laws of the People’s Republic of China and the policies and guidelines of the GuangxiTCMUniversity) and anyone with moral and cultural sincerity will be generally considered by the administration.
