About Chongqing Medical University
Chongqing Medical University (CQMU) was established in 1956. Chongqing Medical University China is a state-funded medical university, jointly funded by the National Health Commission, the Chongqing Municipal Government and the Ministry of Education. Formerly Chongqing Medical College, the university was formed by partially relocating Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University (formerly Shanghai First Medical College). Chongqing Medical University is among the pilot universities for the International Cooperation of Chongqing.
Chongqing Medical University courses are offered at undergraduate, postgraduate and research levels. Chongqing Medical University China has conducted many research projects including state-level projects with the help of the National High-Tech Research and Development Programme (863 Programme), the National Natural Science Foundation and the National Basic Research Programme (973 Programme). All the scientific programmes undertaken by CQMU have been approved by the National Natural Science Foundation, the Ministry of Science and Technology and others.
Chongqing Medical University China is popular for its several innovations like High-Intensity Focused Ultrasonic Therapy System (HIFU) medical equipment and China's first Diagnostic kit for Novel Coronavirus IgM/IgG Antibody. HIFU was put to use in over 50 hospitals across the globe including the US, Spain, Japan, Argentina, Italy, Germany and others. The Novel Coronavirus Antibody was granted the CE Mark Certification in the European Union. Chongqing Medical University has experienced faculty members from the Chinese Academy of Engineering. The faculty members have also been awarded the National Science Fund for Outstanding Youth.
CQMU has two campuses in Yuanjiagang and Jinyun. Chongqing Medical University has international partnerships with universities in North America, Asia, Europe and Oceania. The university has two libraries- Yuanjiagang campus library (13,000 square meters) and Jinyun campus library (20,800 square meters). CQMU library has a vast collection of resources including 6,278,600 books among which 4,291,000 are e-books and 1,987,600 are printed books. The books cover all academic fields and are mainly focused on medical and biological sciences and humanities and social sciences. Chongqing Medical University digital library has abundant medical resources from WanFang Data, Elsevier, CNKI, Springer and others. The university has a total of 4,592 reading seats.
Chongqing Medical University China library maintains a database for all books and a cloud service system for electronic documents. Other services provided by the CQMU library include consultation, new sci-tech retrieval, information retrieval, training and many more.
