Yes you can definitely appear for MCAT exam for MD cohrses in USA.

Students must posses graduate degree from Biological subjects and can have completed graduation degree from countries othwr than USA and Canada.

A candidate is eligible to give the MCAT exam if he or she is interested in pursuing one of the following courses:

  • M.D.

  • D.O.

  • Podiatric (D.P.M.)

  • Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.)

  • Any other healthcare or medicine related program which requires MCAT scores in order to meet admission criteria.

Students not from the US and Canada who are enrolled in an MBBS program are not required satisfy any other additional eligibility requirements. But students who are not from the US or Canada and are pursuing a program in healthcare and medicine other than MBBS or have no immediate intention in pursuing a profession in healthcare and medicine are required to obtain special permission in order to be eligible for the MCAT exam. The special permission requirements and other details can be found on the official AAMC website.

Hello Prajeet,

The test consists of four sections, each scored from 118 to 132 with a median score of 125. The total MCAT score is a sum of the scores from each of the four sections, ranging from 472 to 528 with a median score of 500.

Eligibility criteria for Mcat is for those who are preparing to get into health related professional schools which may include allopathy,osteopathy, podiatric, Veterinary.

This exams can be given 3 times in a calendar year.

You can apply for that through the official website,registration is open for different countries on different dates. The procedure of filling the form is very simple and you can find the guidelines on internet,but if you find any difficulty at any point then let us know

No you can not give MCAT  exam after you do your engineering from India. I want you to understand these both are unrelated things , you have to be atleast in your final year of MBBS before you can give this exam.
ELIBILITY CRITERIA FOR MCAT:-
Nationality.                           Eligibility
The US, Canada---->          Undergraduate degree

International aspirants---->       Pursuing or completed.   MBBS or special request

. A candidate is eligible for taking the MCAT if he/she plans to attend a health professional school, which includes Allopathic, Osteopathic, Podiatric and Veterinary Medicine. If you've completed (or pursuing) an MBBS degree program, you don't need a special permission to sit for the exam.
