anirudha vats 19th Mar, 2021

Hi,

Well doing residency and completing medical education from US indeed has a very good impact on future employment. Great jobs and good salary is offered by private hospitals all around the country. You can choose to come back or even stay there, whichever you prefer.

Hello Sir, Completed giving step 1 and step 2 CK in India. To apply for visa to complete step 2 CS, what are the requirements to be produced ? Is the visa type (B1/B2) or just B1?

anirudha vats 27th Mar, 2021

Hi,

Well all you need to do right now is to get yourself registered for the CS exam. First two levels can be given in India but the last level has to be given in the US. So you will have to travel to US to give the exam and since the reason will be for an exam, the visa might be the tourist visa that most of the people get.

I hope this helps.

All the best.

if I have completed USMLE step 2 by giving ck so after that what should I have to do to give the step 3

anirudha vats 19th Mar, 2021

Hi,

Well after level two is clear you need to travel to United States to give the level 3. You can register for the same and after that you can apply for residency program at hospitals in United States. There is no local provision to give step 3. You will have to travel to US to give the level 3 exam.

I hope this helps.

All the best.

if I want to become a surgeon so in USMLE step 2 what I have to choose ck , cs and why ???

anirudha vats 19th Mar, 2021

Hi,

Well I think that you should give both cause you deciding to be a surgeon will be decided during the residency program. cK one measures your theoretical knowledge and the vs one measures your Practical knowledge. Giving both will be more important to apply for residency program in any hospital.

I hope this helps.

All the best.

Because there there will be no  interconnection have for the classes of MBBS and the classes of step 1 USMLE I.e. United States medical licence examination or PLAB means Professional and Linguistic Assessment Board test whitch is taken for qualifying the doctors ability and quality for practice in UK.

Hlo sir, Is it possible for me to clear USMLE and practice as a cardiologist in USA or Canada after purchasing Phd in cardiology after Msc Cardiac care technology In short with out MBBS will I get medical registrationin USA as doctor.

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 1st Dec, 2020

There is no interrelation between your options. To take up USMLE, you should me a Medical Student and should be officially enrolled in a US or a Canadian Medical School programme that leads to an MD degree. You can also be a Medical graduate. In short, USMLE is for Doctors and its a license exam for Medical Students. Ph.D in Cardiology is not a Medical Degree. It is a doctoral degree after you complete either your MS or MD and not after M.Sc Cardiac Care Technology. M.Sc in CCT involves study of invasive cardiacvascular procedures like Angioplasty, Cardiac catheterisation, devise closure and electrophysiology. Candidates with a Masters degree in CCT can only assist Cardiologists but cannot act as Cardiologists themselves. This course helps you to work in Operating rooms of Cardiac Catheterisations, non invasive analysis, etc but does not help you become a Cardiologist at any given point. This course only teaches you to operate the equipment but not treat the human heart. To become a Cardiologist, you need to study MBBS, pursue MS/MD and then appear for USMLE to practise abroad.

what are the eligibility criteria of USMLE step 2

Shubham Dhane 2nd Jan, 2021

Hello.

To be eligible for USMLE step 2 candidates must be officially enrolled in, or a graduate of, a medical school outside the US and Canada listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools as meeting ECFMG eligibility requirements. A maximum of three attempts is allowed in a 12-month period. As long as the college you have studied is listed in the Directory of Medical Schools then you will be eligible for USMLE step 1 as well as step 2.
