i have done my 12th in PCB can i do 12 math though NIOS to get the eligibility criteria for abroad and can i get admission in indian engineering colleges with 12 with NIOS with also SAT scores

Aashiketa 2nd Nov, 2021

Hi, you can sit for Maths exam through NIOS. The eligibility criteria for getting into an engineering college would be 50% aggregate in PCM. For studying abroad you will have to appear for English proficiency test. For colleges in India SAT score is not required as many of the colleges do not consider it. You will have to appear for entrance exams such as state level CET or JEE Mains. Either way once you appear for maths you will be eligible for both in India as well as for abroad. Hope this helps.

I am preparing for IIT . Should I give SAT ot ACT exam ?

Ketaki Dhotre Student Expert 17th Sep, 2021

Dear,

Sometime most of the students preparing for JEE give SAT. But they get worlds some top university like Harvard, MIT, Cal tech, etc not IIT. I would say that SAT and JEE are totally different. SAT is more based aptitude. So most of the smart students clear this exam without much hard work. Where in terms of JEE you need hard + smart work. So, just try to master the JEE Advanced exam and give SAT too. SAT preparation will be easier once you are done with JEE advanced.

Hope this helps!

Dear Aspirant,

There are many colleges that accept students without the said exams but make sure you have your transcripts ready- LORs, projects/internships/Volunteering certificates, Statement of Purpose, Essays, Extra-curricular activities. These things are a must when trying to apply for colleges abroad.

Colleges in the US:

https://yocket.in/blog/universities-that-dont-require-sat-act-3527

Most of the colleges in Australia require an IELTS test score but have been waived off only on a case by case basic which is entirely judged. Many a times they have also waived it off if the students have completed their education in english medium.

Colleges in Singapore:

  • Nanyang Technological College

Singapore also has numerous centres of internationally acknowledged universities like Duke University, University of Chicago, Booth Graduate School of Business, University of Nevada Las Vegas, and SP Jain Centre of Management.
