My son is a OCI holder. From this year onwards oc holders are supposed to write JEE MAINS instead if SAT. Was wondering if getting into NIT will be easy through DASA rather than the normal route? will the competition be less?

Aashiketa 2nd Nov, 2021

Hi, since this is the first year when students are expected to appear for JEE Mains we do not have previous year cut-off to compare and predict the cut off for NIT. Not many students out of India prepare for JEE Mains exams the competition there is likely to be less. NITs do have DASA quota and not many students apply for it. The total number of seats in DASA 2021 are 3896. Out of 3896 DASA seats, 1273 are reserved for CIWG candidates and 2623 for other DASA applicants. So, if your son is well prepared for exams apply with DASA will be more easily comparatively. Hope this helps.

which is best class for sat and toefl

darshita 3rd Oct, 2021

Hello,

Importance of SAT & TOEFL.

In comparison to the TOEFL, the SAT points more on the reasoning for yourself and not knowledge, which is why extensively colleges expect both admission tests. While the TOEFL indicates your English status as a non-native orator, the SAT is an entrance exam in the US that infers and/or acknowledges academic scholarships.

Most non-native English orators applying to college in the U.S. will be expected to take the TOEFL and the SAT (or ACT, if you prefer). ... Since the SAT expects advanced English language abilities, it may be cause d to waive the TOEFL provision.

Now how to prepare :

  • Get to Know the Format of the TOEFL Test
  • Understand the TOEFL content. No matter which format you take, the TOEFL always has three parts: reading, listening and writing.
  • Decide which format you want to take. Note that nowadays the test is usually taken via the Internet. The paper-based test is becoming less and less popular.
  • Know Why You Are Taking the TOEFL Test
  • More than 9,000 colleges, universities, agencies and institutions accept and require the TOEFL TEST in over 130 countries.
  • Get Support from a Teacher or Peer
  • You don’t have to do this alone. You can get support from peers (other students) and teachers.

Hope this helps!!

how to prepare for sat exam after 12th with neet

SREYASHI SEN 3rd Oct, 2021

Dear aspiring student,

To take the SAT exam, one must ensure that he or she is familiar with the SAT exam pattern, SAT preparation recommendations, and other pertinent information. The SAT and SAT Subject examinations are designed to determine whether candidates are college-ready and fit in with the rest of the students. A large number of schools and universities in the United States and other nations accept the test.

To begin with SAT Preparation guidelines, the first step is to ensure that your grammar is correct. The grammatical abilities will be tested primarily through multiple-choice questions in which you must choose the correct answer. As a result, applicants should brush up on their English fundamentals.

Read: Without reading, preparation is insufficient. Because exam takers will be required to write an essay, keeping up with current events across the world is the best approach to prepare. This will assist you in making your point during the essay writing process.

Make a few sample essays: Selecting a topic and writing about it will aid in the improvement of one's mental process.

Revise your vocabulary: The fill in the blanks task is comparable to the sentence completion task. As a result, keeping up with the most recent vocabulary recommendations is critical.

Sample papers for practise are available at https://studyabroad.careers360.com/articles/sat-sample-papers.

I hope this information is useful. Thank you very much.
