Hi, you can sit for Maths exam through NIOS. The eligibility criteria for getting into an engineering college would be 50% aggregate in PCM. For studying abroad you will have to appear for English proficiency test. For colleges in India SAT score is not required as many of the colleges do not consider it. You will have to appear for entrance exams such as state level CET or JEE Mains. Either way once you appear for maths you will be eligible for both in India as well as for abroad. Hope this helps.

Out of these two Examinations ACT offeres some additional features as compared to SAT though both are University Level Examinations.
1. There is a specific science section in the ACT exam
2. Testing Opportunities are only 6 in SAT while that is 24 in ACT
3. Apart from writing scores, ACT scores are declared within 2 days whereas SAT takes 14 days.

Sometime most of the students preparing for JEE give SAT. But they get worlds some top university like Harvard, MIT, Cal tech, etc not IIT. I would say that SAT and JEE are totally different. SAT is more based aptitude. So most of the smart students clear this exam without much hard work. Where in terms of JEE you need hard + smart work. So, just try to master the JEE Advanced exam and give SAT too. SAT preparation will be easier once you are done with JEE advanced.

But if you want to about good infrastructure well experienced faculities , coding culture then KNIT is very better . Moreover ,if you have good coding skills then you will get good placement from both college . KNIT has better placement scenario ,most of the students get placed with an average package of 4-5 lakhs and highest went upto 12 lakhs
