Can A bsc anaesthesia student write MCAT to peruse masters in anaesthesia?

nimrat17799_9532496 Student Expert 30th Jun, 2019
Hello,

As a minimum criterion of eligibility for M. Sc. Anesthesia the aspiring candidates need to have completed graduation in Science (B.Sc.) stream from a recognized university with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as main subjects, and with a minimum aggregate score of 45%.

As you have done your B. Sc with Anesthesia so you are eligible to go for M. Sc Anesthesia......But you won't be able to go specialisation in MS anesthesia without MBBS.

I hope this would help you. For further queries please feel free to write me down in the comment box.

Need an advice on MCAT (International student).

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 29th Jul, 2019
MCAT is a computerised exam conducted by American Association of Medical Colleges to get into a medical school abroad in countries like US, Canada and Australia. Youare eligible to take this exam if you intend to attend a health professional school that includes Allopathic, Osteopathic, Podiatric and Veterinary Medicine. However do drop a mail to mcat@aamc.org explaining the reason why you want to take the exam. MCAT tests your understanding in fundamentals of Chemistry, Psychology, Sociology, Physics and Chemistry along with problem solving and critical thinking skills. So though these are easy to understand and read, taking few extra classes can boost your score.

Can a BSC psychology student write MCAT to pursue MBBS?

rajaman9300 Student Expert 17th Jun, 2019

Hello Vasu

What are the MCAT eligibility criteria for international students?

All international applicants need to register for MCAT only for the health professional institutes as already mentioned before like any other domestic students. The aspirants will have to provide a statement verifying their intention to apply to a health professions school. It is only after receiving the same, the candidates would be considered eligible for MCAT 2018.

A candidate has to obtain special permission from the officials to register for the MCAT 2018 exam if he/she is not applying to a health professions school, or currently, enrolled as a medical student other than MBBS degree.

As per the MCAT eligibility criteria 2018, if an aspirant holds an MBBS degree or currently pursuing an MBBS programme he/she will be eligible to undergo the registration process of MCAT 2018 without seeking any special permission from the AAMC.

AAMC, the conducting authority of MCAT 2018, will not accept international academic transcripts. Students need to submit the required academic scores separately to the medical institute they are applying to.

International students have to complete at least a four years undergraduate degree for admission to medical colleges in the USA.

For special permission, candidates can send an e-mail request to AAMC (Association of American Medical Colleges), stating the reasons to take the exam.

WHICH COUNTRY HAS THE HIGHEST MCAT PASS PERCENTAGE?? ( BETWEEN RUSSIA, INDIA, UKRAINE, AND GEORGIA) PLEASE REPLY ASAP!!

Mille Sharma 21st Jun, 2019

Hey there!

MCAT is an entrance exam accepted for various MD courses by American and Canadian universities after earning a bachelors degree. You cannot study medicine right after completing standard 12, unlinke India. Studying medicine in Russia and Ukraine is similar to that of India, except it takes 6 years to complete rather than 4 years, as is the case in India. Moreover, you get a MBBS degree in both India, Ukraine and Russia. You, however, need to qualify NEET in order to be eligible for studying medicine in Russia and Ukraine. Also, there is no entrance test taken in these countries.

Hence the highest MCAT pass percentage is in USA and Canada itself (the countries accepting MCAT).

Hope this helps. All the best!

If I have enrolled for a accelerated physio therapy course DPT in the USA as my combined UG and master programme . Can I still give MCAT

Mille Sharma 16th Jun, 2019

Hey Dimple!

You can give the MCAT test, whilst doing the course, however, for applying for MD programs, other than the course you are currently enrolled in, in USA you will have to produce your undergraduate degree. So, make sure to check the terms and conditions of the program you are currently enrolled in (check whether you can switch after completing your UG or do you have to stick through during the entire duration of the program; if at all you plan to change or switch).
