is it possible to do phd in mathematics with gre exam score in canada

Aman Kumar 22nd Mar, 2019

Hi Veena,

Yes it is possible to do phd in mathematics in Canada with a GRE score, but that is not the only criteria for getting an admit as Universities will look at other major factors such as your research work in the field of interest i.e if you have any research publications in any national or international journals, your masters GPA etc.

Note - Not all colleges in Canada require a GRE score for admissions in phd program, do check the admission requirements of the colleges that offer the course you are interested in. Though TOEFL/IELTS is a necessary requirement in all the colleges as a proficiency in English language test.

Does internships in India are really necessary while preparing for gre/gmat what way internships in India will be helpful forstudying abroad

Aman Kumar 22nd Mar, 2019

Hi Sai Chandra,

In case of MS in US, for which one has to give GRE, the internship that you do must be relevant to the course that you want to pursue, only then that internship will be beneficial during the selection process. And doing internships at an NGO could be beneficial as it is a good indicator of community service in one's resume which foreign universities highly value during selection process for both MS and MBA.

Verbal Reasoning section tests your reading comprehension, sentence equivalence, text completion. In the analytical section, you are tested to understand and articulate simple and complex ideas.

I am doing B.com(hons). Can i pursue psychology in United States after cracking GRE exam?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 8th Feb, 2019
Dear Monika,  yes you can pursue Psychology abroad. With Depression and criticism exceeding limits, Psychology has a scope beyond one's imagination. Ideally you should be taking GRE Psychology Test. This is a standardised test used in admissions into some graduate programmes in countries like US. This is a test of 2 hours and 50 minutes duration and the results have a validity of 5 years. The basic eligibility criteria for pursuimg Masters in Psychology is that you should have a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent. GRE, IELTS abd TOEFL are the language proficeincy tests that you have to take. One amongst these 3 is good enough. Admission process to every University differs. There are 2 intakes for admissions like Fall and Spring. So your preparation should be based on your desired intakes. First things first, you have to choose a University, check their eligibility criteria by visiting their official website. It is always suggested to shorltlist quite a few Universities. Get your reference letters and prepare a solid Statement of Purpose and have all the relevant documents ready. Ideally it is advisable to start preparing a year before the desired intake. Hope his helps.

When will GRE 2019 will be happening..?? What is the syllabus ®istration fees..?? Will it help me to study masters in Civil Engineering?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 27th Feb, 2019
Dear Sankalp, GRE is an assessment exam for MS programmes abroad. It tests a candidate's Analytical Writing, Verbal reasoning and  Quantitative Reasoning. GRE has nothing to do with Civil Engineering. GRE is an International assessment exam and so you can appear for this exam round the year. You need to register online at their official website, select a test center and book your slot and make payment.
