Pearson Test of English Academic
Hey Rawat,
In the case of IELTS vs. TOEFL vs. PTE, it's difficult to recommend which test you should take. The answer may be contingent on criteria such as your preferred college, the minimum score required, and your own preferences.
The three language examinations are as similar as they are dissimilar to one another. Even if they grade them differently, each of them assesses all of the needed English language skills. The cost of each test is likewise nearly the same, and the duration is just slightly different. All three tests are available throughout the year in India at most major centres. However, each of these exams has its own set of pros and cons.
So if you specifically mention for what purpose you are giving this examination then I can help you properly.
Hope it helps.
Regards,
Hi,
Well generally for the visa to be approved, the demand is to get a sectional marks in all speaking, reading, writing and listening. So if you have cleared that cut off for all sections then it's okay otherwise it will be better to give the test again to make sure to get the visa approved.
I hope this helps.
All the best.
Hello Gurpreet, I hope you're in the best of your health.
First of all, the basic requirement for going abroad for studies or work to any English speaking country, like Australia, is your English proficiency. You must be able to read, write, speak and understand English very well in order to make your way abroad.
Talking about PTE, it is the world's leading computer-based English language test for study abroad and immigration. This three hour-long computer-based test lays emphasis on testing your day-to-day english rather than focusing on high or expert level english. The main motive behind this is to ensure that the applicant must be able to understand daily-life conversations and should not face problems because of the language. Being a multi-grading test, it makes sure better understanding of the students proficiency in English.
The managing body has not issued any specific eligibility criteria to appear for PTE but a general rule exists, which says that the applicant must be at least 16 years old while applying for the test. As for the candidates below the age of 18 must posses a parental consent for appearing in PTE. The test, like any other English language test, focuses on three or to be precise, four major sections namely, reading, listening, speaking and writing.
The certificate that you secure after the completion of the test is valid for two years. You have to bear a cost of Rs.13,300 to book your test. Lastly, you must secure at least 50 points, which is equivalent to a band score of 6 in IELTS or 74-75 points of TOEFl.
I hope my answer helps you with your query. Looking forward to answer more of it.
Hey Mohit
Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic is conducted for candidates willing to pursue their education abroad especially Australia.
There is no cutoff marks in PTE but there is a desired score above which universities prefer students for admission. And that desired score is around 55-60 since past years, and with 65+ you get higher points in your application. With 49 score, chances of acceptance are less but not nil, so you may apply to universities where acceptance on low score is valid.
For further doubts, ask us. For more information; PTE 2020
You need a minimum marks of 60 to apply for Australian skilled immigration program.
If you score above 50 and less than 65 then you will be eligible to apply for Australian PR, but this score doesn’t give you any points, you will secure competent English which is the minimal English language criteria to apply. Above 50 in PTE gives ‘zero’ points for PR points tally. score of 65 and above, less than 79 gives you 10 points.
