Does du offers bachelor in performing arts in drama?

Mitali Sharma 16th Mar, 2025

Hello

No, Delhi University (DU) does not offer a Bachelor in Performing Arts (BPA) in Drama specifically.

However, it does offer related courses such as :

1. BA (Hons) in Hindi Patrakarita or Jansanchar (Journalism & Mass Communication) – which can be useful for acting and drama careers .

2. BA (Hons) in English – which includes literature and drama studies .

3. BA Programme with Theatre and Performance Studies (Available in some colleges) .

If you are looking for a dedicated BPA in Drama, universities like IGNOU , BHU or NSD (National School of Drama) might be better options .

Hope this helps you .

Which Test would be easier: IELTS or PTE (Pearson Test of English) ?

Amrita Koner 19th Jul, 2024

The ease of the IELTS versus the PTE can vary depending on your strengths and preferences. IELTS tends to focus more on British English and has a variety of question types that might be familiar if you are accustomed to traditional exams. PTE, on the other hand, is computer-based and features a more integrated approach to language skills, which some find more straightforward. For tailored guidance, especially if you're considering studying abroad, Invicta Career Consultancy can offer valuable insights and support in choosing the test that aligns best with your goals and strengths. Additionally, consider researching other well-reviewed consultancy firms to find the one that best suits your specific needs and preferences.

Question : Select the option that can be used as a one-word substitute for the underlined group of words.
How did you become interested in learning the art of producing beautiful handwriting?

Option 1: Lexicography

Option 2: Demography

Option 3: Calligraphy

Option 4: Graphology

Team Careers360 24th Jan, 2024

Correct Answer: Calligraphy

Solution : The correct answer is the third option.

Explanation: "Calligraphy" is an appropriate one-word substitute because it specifically refers to the art of beautiful handwriting. When the original sentence mentions "learning the art of producing beautiful handwriting", the term "calligraphy" succinctly encapsulates this concept. It implies a skillful and decorative approach to writing, often with an emphasis on aesthetics and artistic expression.

Therefore, the correct answer is calligraphy.

Question : Direction: Read the following passage and answer the questions given after it.
The science of climate change is more solid and widely agreed upon than you might think. But the scope of the topic, as well as rampant disinformation, can make it hard to separate fact from fiction. Here, we've done our best to present you with not only the most accurate scientific information but also an explanation of how we know it. Climate change is often cast as a prediction made by complicated computer models. But the scientific basis for climate change is much broader, and models are actually only one part of it (and, for what it's worth, they're surprisingly accurate).

For more than a century, scientists have understood the basic physics behind why greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide cause warming. These gases make up just a small fraction of the atmosphere but exert outsized control on Earth's climate by trapping some of the planet's heat before it escapes into space. This greenhouse effect is important: It's why a planet so far from the sun has liquid water and life! However, during the Industrial Revolution, people started burning coal and other fossil fuels to power factories, smelters and steam engines, which added more greenhouse gases to the atmosphere. Ever since human activities have been heating the planet.

Question:

For what duration of time, scientists learned the green house gases?

Option 1: more than a decade

Option 2: more than two fortnights

Option 3: more than a 20 years

Option 4: more than a century

Team Careers360 24th Jan, 2024

Correct Answer: more than a century

Solution : The correct answer is option 4.

Explanation:

'More than a century,' is the correct answer.

Take a look at the first sentence of the passage's final paragraph:
 'For more than a century, scientists have understood the basic physics behind why greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide cause warming.'.

According to the preceding line, scientists have known about greenhouse gases for over a century.

Question : Directions: In the following question, select the related number from the given alternatives.
103 : 10609 :: 106 : ?

Option 1: 10606

Option 2: 10306

Option 3: 11236

Option 4: 13636

Team Careers360 25th Jan, 2024

Correct Answer: 11236

Solution : Given:
103 : 10609 :: 106 : ?

1032 = 10609 (10609 is the square of 103)
Similarly, 1062 = 11236 (11236 is the square of 106)

Hence, the third option is correct.

This article says "...This includes English language proficiency exams such as the IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, and TOEIC..." But if a student wants to study in a public university, why he/she should write these exams? Is It not enough to write DELF? Are you not misleading them?

Amrita Koner 27th Jul, 2024

For students aiming to study in public universities, English language proficiency exams like IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, and TOEIC are often required because they are specifically designed to assess English skills in an academic context, which is crucial for success in such institutions. Which is easier PTE or IELTS?

Hema Gopalakrishnan 23rd Mar, 2023

Both tests are challenging in their own way. The IELTS Writing section is a little more difficult as it is based on higher literary standards. The IELTS Academic Reading Test may contain more complex texts compared to the General Training Reading Test.

PTE seems a little easier for students because PTE focuses more on the application level and doesn't cover the basics much.
