want to study in usa in psychology after my graduation. How much percentage I require to apply for ielts.

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 25th Oct, 2019

Dear Nidhi, IELTS is a Language proficiency test taken for checking your Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking skills as we are non Native English Speakers. IELTS has no eligibility criteria. You can take it irrespective of your Educational qualification and aggregate in your Graduation. So IELTS has got nothing to do with your previous studies. But you need to score a minimum band of 7.5 or more for admission in a decent University. I understand that I can select 5 universities to send the scores to. What should I do if I want to send it to more than 5 colleges? Is there any additional charge that should be paid? please give me an idea about the procedure.

Amy Student Expert 26th Oct, 2019

Hello,

Besides the 5 universities, the British council will help you to send additional copies of your TRF to other institutions as well( maximum of 5). For thus, you need to mention it beforehand while booking the test. You will also need to pay extra for each of the additional universities.

how should i apply for IELTS or GRE exams?

sahanahegde44 16th Dec, 2020

Hello  Aspirant,

Hope your doing well!

you have not specified the course for admission but this is the basic procedure

IELTS Writing Task 2 and the GRE AWA’s Analyse-an-Issue Task are almost exactly the same. Both tasks involve writing your opinion on a social issue — something like global warming, funding for education,

It is always followed to take up IELTS for europe countries, many students prefer doing this to study overseas.

Paper-based GRE tests are available only twice a year: once in November, and once in February. The 2019-2020 tests were held on November 9th, 2019, and February 1st, 2020

Compared to the ACT and the SAT, the GRE is typically considered more difficult because, even though the math tested on the GRE is a lower level than the math tested on the SAT and ACT, the GRE has more challenging vocabulary and reading passages, and the math problems have trickier wording or require higher-level

Basically both of them will involve same procedures, same preperation, incase your travelling to any europe countries, ielts is most preffered.

Its better to start off the preparation right away as it's the best time to take up and finish everything!

there is no eligibility criteria per tests, start preparing in 3rd year and start taking up mock tests and study , ace the exam!

Thankyou, Good luck for everything ahead :)

Most of the universities accept 5.5 IELTS in the USA and in case the IELTS score is less than 5.5, then you must consider taking the IELTS Test again. While targeting an average university in the US Universities, the candidates’ IELTS score must be at least 6.5 or higher than that.

can you please send me the latest syllabus for the IELTS exam. I want to apply for IELTS for Canada PR.

Apurva anand 15th Oct, 2019

Hello Jyotsna, There is nothing like syllabus for IELTS exam. It is just a proficiency test for english language. There are 4 sections in the test: Reading, writing, speaking and listening. For the reading section, there would be an unseen passage and some questions related to that, you would need to find answers from the passage. for the listening section, you would have to answer the question based on the sound clip you hear. For the writing section, you would be needed to write two essays on the topic given. As for the speaking test, you would have to talk face to face with the instructor for about 12-15 minutes in english. I have given computer delivered IELTS myself and scored 7.0 in first attempt. I didn't do any coaching or read anything. Although i am going to give you official link for the practice tests:
