Graduate Record Exam
Hello Shrey, I would like to suggest you that you have to fill the PTE and IELTS exam forms for your designing courses.
Hey there!
-Firstly, chalk out the colleges you would want to apply to based on your interests, the college's/ univerisity's ranking etc.
-Secondly, for applying to a PHD program abroad, start by looking at the admission criteria for the colleges you are planning to apply to by visiting their websites. Some colleges require you to take just the GRE general test but some might ask for GRE subject tests too, depending on the course/ research area you are planning to go for.
-Apart from that, you will also have to take English profiency tests such as IELTS and TOEFL.
-Make sure to get in touch with your professors from your current college for recommendation letters.
-Write a strong statement of purpose.
-Additionally, make a CV, if you haven't. Most colleges don't require it but some might.
Hope this helps. All the best!
Hi Ashwani,
As far as I am concerned, you can only take one GRE at a time. If you are interested in both then you can take one in one attempt and the other in the coming attempt as the scores are valid for a period of 5 years.
All the best..!!!
Dear Nandini,
Your interest in archaeology is commendable. Most colleges in abroad require high score in GRE. Also please check the eligibility criteria of the college you want to apply to, for example, you may need to prove your English Language skills through IELTS or TOEFL. Most colleges require 5.5 in IELTS and 80 in TOEFL. However statistics differ from college to college. If the above mentioned examinations are not considered in the college you want to apply to , there may be SOP writing, Skype interview or any other admission procedure followed. Also keep at least 2 positive recommendation letters from your professors. Really helps in boosting your chances for admission. All the very best!
No,my question was what is the best GRE score to get into a good university when cgpa is around 6-6.5?
Hello Dhanya Kurangi
You completed the B.Tech first year you should maintain the CGPA above 9 because these will be added in GRE. You should develop the Communication skills & English Proficiency. GRE Exams is conducted in two ways. One online mode another Offline mode. GRE mainly consists of 3 sections. They are Analytical Writing, Verbal Writing, Quantitative Reasoning. You have to work hard to crack the GRE Exam.

All The Best.
Hi Aspirant,
Practically a 12th std student can give the GRE and qualify with a very good score. You got to have good verbal skills and a good control over basic maths. But as far as your question is concerned, the best time for giving GRE after entering Engineering is when you are in 4th or 5th semester.
The results are valid for 5years.
All the best!
