can i give duolingo english test instead of TOEFL OR IELTS?
Hi there,
You may take the Duolingo English Test online on your home computer. It assesses each of the four language skills—reading, listening, speaking, and writing—just like the TOEFL and IELTS do. The Duolingo English Test may be taken online, unlike conventional English tests. If you're submitting applications to several universities, it's possible that at least some of them won't accept Duolingo at this time, but they will all almost certainly accept the TOEFL or IELTS.

TOEFL being entirely computer-based means you won't have to interact with an actual human. The test is accepted by more than 11,000 universities and other institutions in over 190 countries and territories. While most Indian students looking to give the TOEFL are likely to be comfortable with computers and keyboards, chances are they haven't taken a computerized test before. Hi, This is Anusha, I am interested to do MS computer science in Canada....Firstly, I thought to go to USA, I have cleared my TOEFL and GRE.... But now, I decided to go to canada. My doubt is that will TOEFL and GRE score helps me to choose universities in canada? Orelse IELTS score only mandatory ?
Hello!
Applicants with English competence other than IELTS have been accepted. If the university or college accepts you, there will be no difficulty.
However, only IELTS is allowed for the SDS stream. Other English competence might be acceptable for the general stream.
We recommend that you also email and ask the Canadian High Commission so that they can assist you in resolving the issue.
Or if you believe in the quote, "Precaution is better than cure" you can attempt IELTS, and go further with it for admission.
As far as GRE is concerned, in some cases it is required, in some it isn't, again depending upon the university.
All the best for your studies!
