Concordia University was established in 1974, following the merger of Loyola College and Sir George Williams University. The university is located in Montreal, the largest city in Québec, Canada. It has two campuses, one, Sir George Williams, in the city downtown and the other, Loyola, in its western suburbs. Out of 45,488 students enrolled in credit courses, 11,000 students, accounting to 24.3% of students, are international students. Concordia University has four major faculties: Arts and Science, Engineering and Computer Science, the John Molson School of Business, and the School of Graduate Studies. All the faculties, together, provide 300 undergraduate studies, 195 graduate programmes, certifications and certificates, and 40 postgraduate programmes.
The Fine arts faculty at CU is one of the finest ones in Canada. It offers students the chance to create contemporary art in all artistic disciplines. One of the most diversified collections of public art in the nation is also housed at the university.

Concordia University offers 116 undergraduate and 102 postgraduate courses in four faculties: the Faculty of Arts & Science, Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science, the Faculty of Fine Arts and the John Molson School of Business. Students can go to the apply section on the official website of the University, and either start a new application or continue an existing one using their ‘netname’ which is their student login. New students can request for a netname if they don’t already have it. They should read the guidelines carefully before starting to fill out the form. The application fee of CAD 100 is to be paid before submitting the application.
How to apply at Concordia University?
To apply at Concordia University, the students must follow the following steps:
To start filling out the application form applicants are required to set up their student portal by signing up and setting up their Netname and password to access the Student Centre on the official website of the university, which is where they can apply.
Next, applicants have to choose an area of study. They may choose one course from the wide range of courses each faculty at the University provides. Whichever term they wish to apply to (Fall or Winter) and the year, is also chosen in this step.
The Form might ask for biographical and contact information. Applicants are required to list their academic history, honours, distinctions and achievements along with their curriculum vitae/resumé and attach documents as proof.
To finalize the application, students need to pay a non-refundable application fee ($100 CAD) by credit card.
Once applicants have clicked the “submit” button, they will receive a confirmation email with an attached PDF copy of their application within 24 hours. This email will include an eight-digit student ID number that they will use throughout their studies if they are accepted at Concordia.
If a student has received an offer package from the university, which they can keep track of on the Student Centre student portal, they can either accept or defer the offer package on the Student Centre.
The offer package will hold all the information about the next steps of application, how to pay the tuition fees and how to apply for residence. The offer letter or the confirmation of admission letter can also be used in the application for a Student Visa Canada.
International students with great community involvement and an excellent academic record have a great chance at winning one of many of the scholarships the University provides. The University provides entrance scholarships and enrolled as a full-time student scholarship as well and they are all based on which faculty the student is enrolled in, each faculty provides at least 5 scholarships. One of the general requirements to apply is that they should have a GPA in the range of 2.70-3.30 depending on the scholarship award. The Faculty of Arts and Science provides the highest number of scholarships, i.e., 11, ranging from $500-$4,000. Students can also apply to external resources like Indigenous Services Canada, Yconic, etc. for third-party scholarships that are trusted by the University.
Undergraduate students:
A 12th grade educational qualification from Higher School Certificate or Intermediate Certificate or Higher Secondary Certificate Indian School Certificate or All India Senior School Certificate or Pre-University Certificate.
English proficiency certificate if required.
Postgraduate students:
To be considered for admission to Master-level studies, the applicant must have a bachelor's/baccalaureate degree with high standing (with honours, or the Concordia equivalent of a GPA of at least 3.00 on a scale of 4.30).

The Library at the University has facilities like virtual reality, 3D printing in addition to research guides and books. The online web page of the library allows students to book a study room and access E-journals, databases by subject and citation guides. There are 3 libraries at the university: Webster Library, Vanier Library, and Grey Nuns.
In the Intramural Leagues, all sports take place at the Loyola Campus in the fall, winter and summer. Typically the activities include: Badminton, Basketball, Hockey, Skating, Soccer, Dome Soccer, Ultimate and Volleyball. The Intramural leagues are coed league for students, staff, faculty, alumni, and sometimes the public. Everyone can select their choice of sport and register online on the sports web page of the official website.
Students can use the large exercise centre that is situated in the university's downtown area. CU provides everything students might need, from workout machines, qualified personal trainers, and a variety of fitness courses, including aerobics, dance, fitness, martial arts, and more.
The cafeteria at the University provides all kinds of food for everyone: students can choose from a wide range of options that are plant-based, gluten or lactose-free as well as halal foods.
To date, nearly 10,000 international students from some 150 countries have chosen to study at Concordia. Out of which, 25.6% of students are Indians. The highest number of international students, i.e., 5,865, have opted to study at the Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science. First-year students of Concordia are highly encouraged to choose to stay on campus and make the most of their first year. Living on campus will provide them with easy access to classes and other facilities, and they can stay in the loop about campus events and activities. Students live on the Loyola Campus and the Sir George Williams Campus of the University among 4 halls of residences + one converted hotel. All residences are fully furnished apartments with twin and single, large beds (depending on the type and rate of the room). All residences have free WiFi access as well.
