Students appearing and preparing for the SAT must have clear knowledge of the math section. SAT Math Prep 2025 includes two modules, each module containing 22 questions, these 22 questions are further divided into two types.
There are 16-17 multiple-choice questions.
There are 5-6 student-produced response questions.
In these 22 questions, two pre-test questions do not count in your score, however, they are kept unknown to the students, and students are expected to consider all the questions with equal weightage.
Your performance in the first module will decide if you will get an average level in the next module or the difficult level.
The math section of the digital SAT has questions not distributed in a set format like is done for the verbal reading section. In the Math module, questions can be given in any order covering all topics from word problems with averages, a trigonometry question, or a question on the vertex of the parabola. All topics are covered in a mixed format of questions. The SAT math prep tips will define the way all concepts should be prepared in a smart strategic manner.
The topics covered under the SAT math module are given below:
Some of the useful SAT math prep tips for 2025 that will help students score high on their SAT are given below. We recommend students practice SAT math prep questions from SAT math preparation books at the initial stage so that they can strengthen their conceptual knowledge.
The core concepts that are covered and assessed in the SAT math module must be mastered by students aiming to score full marks, however, we suggest that if you aim to have an average score, you should make yourself familiar with all the concepts and practice according to the personal schedule you have.
Linear equations, inequalities, and functions: these concepts should be mastered and regular practice of these questions should be done using SAT math prep books. Memorise SAT math tips like :
The rule of equations you learned in your high school days- Whatever you do the terms on one side of the equal signs, you must do the terms on the other side of it as well.
If a question contains an expression that can be factored, factor it. If it contains an expression that has already been factored, multiply it out.
Remember that some digital SAT questions will require the art of manipulation. If you have to manipulate, take time and do it carefully.
Some of the frequently asked questions under this category are the properties of shapes, the Pythagorean theorem, and basic trigonometry functions.
Revision of basic concepts like a circle containing 360 degrees and a line has an angle only of 180 degrees. Intersecting lines, parallel lines, formulas of triangular figures, the measures of angles in a right-angled triangle, calculations related to circumference and arcs of circles, and the area and perimeter of squares and rectangles. Apart from all of the above the formulas use basic trigonometry rules.
You are expected to understand and interpret data from charts and graphs and calculate the mean, median, mode, and basic probability principles.
For this, the best SAT math prep tip is to make a log book wherein you should summarize all the topics and their important points to use as SAT math last-minute tips.
For example:
For questions about the graphs of functions: note that f(x)=y.
Two linear equations with infinitely many solutions represent the same line.
Once you have the concept clarity of different topics that will be assessed in the SAT math section, you should now be clear on the kind of questions that will be asked.
Under this type of question, the focus will be on linear equations, systems of equations, and inequalities.
For example: Find the solution set for the system of equations:
[ \begin{cases} x + y = 10 \ 2x - y = 3 \end{cases} ]
In this category of questions, you will be focusing on ratios, percentages, proportions, and analyzing data.
For example: If a recipe requires 3 cups of flour for every 2 cups of sugar, how much flour is needed for 5 cups of sugar?
The main focus of this type of question is on quadratic equations, exponential functions, and higher-level math concepts.
For example: Solve the quadratic equation ( x^2 - 4x - 5 = 0 ) using the quadratic formula.
The focus area can be a mixed approach to complex calculations, geometry, and trigonometry.
For example: Find the length of the hypotenuse in a right triangle with legs of length 3 and 4 using the Pythagorean theorem.
This is one of the most important SAT math prep tips, remember that the SAT is not just assessing your mathematical capabilities but is also analyzing the way you understand the information. So perfect focus and concentration will only be the key to success in digital SAT 2025.
Read the given question information very carefully and break it into simpler forms for better understanding. For example, in a word problem about time, speed, and distance focus on the given values and their relationship (formula).
There would be times when you are not sure of the answer or the concept clarity may seem to be weak, at this stage using the elimination method works perfectly. For example, if a multiple-choice question asks for the value of ( x ) in ( 3x + 2 = 11 ), and the choices are 1, 2, 3, and 4, you can quickly eliminate 1 and 2 as they don’t satisfy the equation.
For multiple-choice questions, you will at times have to plug the answer choices back into the problems to see which one works the best.
For example, if the question is ( x^2 - 5x + 6 = 0 ) and the choices are 1, 2, 3, and 4, you can substitute each value into the equation to find the correct answer.
SAT math preparation has to be done under timed conditions to excel in the main exam. We highly recommend you give yourself an exam-like environment at the time of practising SAT math prep questions.
Divide your time based on the number of questions that you have to attempt. Do not spend too much time on any question. If your target is to score above average we suggest you should first attempt all easy questions and then move to the difficult ones.
As mentioned above, you should practice under timed conditions, this will help you maintain the required pace at the time of the exam. Always remember, that excellence in math comes with smart practice work.
Tackle the easier ones first, then move to the difficult ones. Do not get confused with the computer-adaptive system of the test. In the SAT, your section-2 difficulty level will be decided based on your attempt in the section-1. So, you do not have to worry about every question.
For the SAT math preparation, We recommend that you upgrade yourself with mental math skills so that you can increase your calculation speed. However, you will be allowed to use a calculator, so you should know to use the calculator in the best way and also be able to do smart calculations intellectually.
If you can calculate using basic shortcuts of mental maths, you will be able to save time and gain more accuracy.
Breaking the numbers into smaller parts and using approximate values are some ways of quick calculations. Use an SAT math preparation book pdf to enhance these skills and be exam-ready.
One of the basic mistakes made by students is casually using the available material. We suggest you use the SAT math preparation books and SAT math prep videos wisely and prepare a study schedule that helps you prepare efficiently.
Periodically, take full-length practice tests to check your progress and to identify the type of errors you are making so that you can be flexible with your preparation and focus on the concepts that need more attention.
Each time you attempt SAT math prep questions or SAT math practice tests, you should check all the questions that you have attempted carefully. Praise yourself for the correct answers and review the mistakes you have made so that you can learn, understand, and practice the concepts once again.
Focus on all the weaknesses that are highlighted after reviewing the practice done from SAT math practice questions so that you can increase your conceptual knowledge and be confident for the exam.
Always consider using authenticated material for your preparation. Using authenticated digital SAT practice tests 2025 online will help you know the exact position of preparation you have reached. This will further help you plan for your improvement.

Two papers make up the Class 8 NMMS (National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship) exam:
The Mental Ability Test (MAT) measures a person's capacity for critical thought, reasoning, and problem-solving. It covers topics such as pattern recognition, numerical series, classifications, analogies, and more.
The Scholastic Aptitude Test, or SAT, assesses a candidate's general knowledge as well as their proficiency in science, math, and social studies. It centres on the academic material that students have studied.
While every state may have a unique curriculum and format, both exams usually feature multiple-choice questions (M CQs).
Hello aspirant,
The SAT is a standardized test used by many colleges and universities in the United States and other countries to assess a student's readiness for college. Here's a general guide on how to apply for the SAT and whether the IPE (Integrated Program in English) is important:
Process to apply in SAT:
a. Create a College Board Account:
Go to the College Board website (collegeboard.org) and create a free account.
b. Register for the SAT: Once you have an account, you can register for the SAT exam. Select your preferred test date, test center location, and fee payment method. The SAT is typically offered on Saturdays throughout the year.
c. Prepare for the SAT: There are many resources available to help you prepare for the SAT, including practice tests, study guides, and online courses. You can also consider taking a SAT prep course.
d. Take the SAT: On the test day, arrive at the test center early, bring your admission ticket, photo ID, and any necessary supplies (e.g., pencils, calculator).
e. Receive Your Scores:
Your SAT scores will be available online a few weeks after the test date. You can use these scores to apply to colleges and universities.
The IPE (Integrated Program in English) is a program offered by some schools in India that focuses on developing English language skills. While the IPE can be helpful in improving your English proficiency, it is not a requirement for taking the SAT.
The SAT is designed to assess your knowledge of English language arts and mathematics, regardless of your background or educational experience. If you have a strong foundation in English, you should be able to do well on the SAT even without participating in the IPE.
I hope this information helps.
To gain admission to Ivy League colleges besides the SAT and ACT, you can consider taking Advanced Placement (AP) exams and SAT Subject Tests, although the latter have been discontinued by the College Board. AP exams demonstrate mastery of college-level coursework and can strengthen your application. Additionally, if you're an international student, taking English proficiency tests like TOEFL or IELTS is essential. Some Ivy League schools also accept the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma as a rigorous academic qualification. Achieving high scores in these exams, along with maintaining an exceptional academic record, participating in extracurricular activities, and submitting strong essays and recommendation letters, will enhance your chances of admission. Try selecting a foreign admission consultant for your educational career, consider their track record, client reviews, and success stories.
