Cost of studying MBA in Dubai
Dubai, one of the luxurious places to be in the 21st century, is famous for its skyscrapers, world-class shopping malls and oil reserves. However, skyscrapers are not the only aspect to look out for in the extravagant city. Lately, the gleaming city has also emerged as a business hub of the Middle East. The thriving economy, lavish lifestyle and top international university campuses is what lures in international students to Dubai.

Dubai is home to over 50,000 international students out of which over 15,000 are management students, 10,000 are pursuing engineering and over 7,000 humanities. This reflects that management is one of the most popular courses in Dubai. Being one of the most sought after destinations for MBA, there are ample reasons that favour the city as an education hub:

  • Tuition Fee- Compared to other giants like USA and Australia, MBA tuition fees in Dubai is reasonable. For instance, let’s take one of the top MBA colleges in Dubai, Manchester Business School. Here the MBA tuition fee is AED 1,55,860 i.e., USD 42,432. However, the same programme at one of the best business schools in USA -- Harvard Business School -- will cost you around $61,225.

  • Business Hub-  It is one of the fastest growing economies in the world supported by the UAE government’s investment in various sectors like education, healthcare and trade and commerce. Within a short span of time, Dubai has moved from being a little known tourist destination to one of the most luxurious and happening destinations of all time. Hence, the city today enjoys its newfound status as a global business hub.

  • Scholarships- Universities like University of Wollongong, Dubai, offer scholarships like Outstanding Academic Excellence Scholarship and Sports scholarship. Further, in Cass Business School, Dubai, students have access to scholarships like Islamic Finance Scholarship and Academic Excellence Scholarship.

There are many factors to consider before heading to Dubai for MBA. The cost of studying MBA in Dubai is one of the key factors why international students prefer Dubai over countries like USA. In this article we will help you plan your finances in a smart and efficient manner.

MBA tuition fees in Dubai

Generally, the top MBA colleges come with hefty tuition fees. Luckily, that is not the case with the extravagant city that boasts of some top ranking international university campuses. The annual tuition fee at one of the top MBA colleges in Dubai, Manipal University, is AED 78,000, which is almost half of what you will be paying in USA.

However, the MBA tuition fees in Dubai may vary depending on the university and its programme. Some universities in Dubai do not offer full time MBA programmes but offer Executive MBA or Part time MBA programmes. For example, London Business School (LBS), Dubai, only offers an executive MBA programme while Alliance Manchester Business School’s Dubai campus just offers a part time MBA course.

Surprisingly, the EMBA tuition fee in UK campus of London School of Business is AED 3,54,555, which is comparatively lower than the fee charged at the Dubai campus -- AED 4,02,188.

However, EMBA tuition fee in UK campus of Manchester Business School is AED 1,59,489 which is similar to that of the Dubai campus. Therefore, if tuition fee is the sole criterion to study MBA abroad, it is a close tie between the two campuses. In this case, students can compare other elements like accommodation and cost of living of both the countries.

However, the scheme is only compulsory for individuals with 12 months sponsored visa and optional for non-sponsored students. Non-sponsored individuals will have to apply separately for the insurance with the registrar’s office. More often than not, students can purchase the medical health insurance from the university itself at the time of admission. In universities like American University in Dubai, students have access to UAE Coverage Private Health Insurance for AED 1,700 per year. However, students with valid private health insurance need not opt for the plan.
