Inlaks Scholarships - Any candidate from India who wants to develop their professional, artistic, and cultural abilities by studying both in abroad and India are eligible for Inlaks Shivadasani Scholarships. The funding is provided by Inlaks Shivadasani Foundation. The intake of the Inlaks scholarships application will begin from January month of every year. To date, 1280 candidates received scholarships, awards, and grants from Inlaks for studying abroad and in India. Through the Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation scholarships, students can apply for post-graduation courses in top-rated foreign universities to study in America, Europe, and the United Kingdom, etc. The funding in the Inlaks scholarships covers the university fees, a stipend for living expenses, and a few other allowances. Application Process for Inlaks Scholarship 2023

The mode of application for the scholarship is online. The candidate must already received the admission letter from the foreign university and then apply for the Inlaks Shivdasani scholarships.

The steps to be followed for the application process are -

Step 1 - Visit the official Inlaks Scholarship official website at inlaksfoundation.org/

Step 2 - In the scholarships section select “how to apply > applications instructions> apply.”

Step 3 - Upload the passport photocopy

Step 4 - Fill in the personal and academic details and university details like tuition fees and upload the necessary documents and submit the form

Step 5 - Later submit the Letter of Recommendation through the referee’s official institution or organization mail id within the time given timeline.

Documents Required For Inlaks Scholarships

The key documents which are to be submitted while applying for the Inlaks Shivdasani scholarships are given below -

• Education Certificates

• Passport Photocopy

• Admission letter from University

• Proof of fee statement (from admission letter or university fee structure pdf)

• Letter of recommendation(LOR) - Minimum 2 LORs are mandatory, one LOR must be from an academic referee.

• Portfolio links or pdf files for the students applying courses like architecture, music, arts, film, dance, etc. (if applicable)

• Proof of additional funding - bank statements/approval letter of education loan/ personal investment documents

Inlaks Scholarship Eligibility

There eligibility criteria for the scholarship is as follows -

• Any Indian passport holder.

• Age- 30 years

• Degree(s) -

• From a recognized university in India.

• If the UG degree is from abroad, the candidate must have resided(study/employment) in India for 2 years at least, after completion of degree.

• PG-completed or currently undergoing students are not eligible.

• Admission letter from abroad university for a master's or PhD.

• Academic Merit -

• For subjects like Social Sciences, Humanities, Law, Fine Arts, Architecture, and related subjects the required minimum academic grade is 65%, CGPA 6.8, or GPA 2.6.

• For Mathematics, Sciences, Environment, and related subjects, the required minimum academic grade is 70%, CGPA 7.2, or GPA 2.8.

Courses that are not eligible under Inlaks Scholarships

The Inlaks Foundation, for the past few years, has stopped providing scholarships for the following courses mentioned below -

• Business and Finance
• Computer Science
• Engineering - Exception for Engineering and Natural Sciences course at Imperial College, London.
• Fashion Design
• Film and Film Animation - Exception for a Documentary filmmaking course
• Hospitality and Tourism
• Indian Studies without Contemporary Relevance
• Management Studies (i.e. MBA)
• Medicine, Dentistry, and related therapies
• Music - Exception for Western Classical singing
• Public Health

Selection Process For the Inlaks Scholarships

The Inlaks selection committee will select the candidates for the Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation scholarships. The selection process will be held in three stages -

• Final Interview

Funding Covered in Inlaks Scholarships

The following facilities are covered under the funding of Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation scholarships are -

• Scholarship amount - $100,000 for tuition fee, living expenses, and health insurance for the whole course duration.

• Airfare - only one-way trip

For PhD students, there is an additional funding opportunity, available for a few colleges with which the foundation has partnered for joint-scholarship arrangements with Imperial College in London, the Royal College of Art (RCA), London, the University of Cambridge, and King’s College London.

Inlaks Take off Grants

These are the take-off Grants provided by the Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation. The takeoff grants provide financial support for projects which promote individual talents in any areas like art, music, education, law, photography, etc., without any restriction. These Inlaks take-off Grants are tenable both in India and abroad. The financial support is provided up to $5000 and any Indian age below 36 can apply for this Inlaks grant.
