Terms and Conditions of Inlaks Scholarship

There are a few terms and conditions that need to be kept while applying for Inlaks scholarships. They are mentioned below:

  • The foundation offers the highest grant of USD 100,000.
  • Tuition fees, living expenses, healthcare and one-way airfare are covered under the umbrella of the Inlaks Foundation.
  • If the total amount of funding required to complete your specific course exceeds the specified amount, then, at the time of application, students are required to demonstrate their ability to finance additional costs.
  • The course should not require field trips to India during the study period.

Application Process for Inlaks Scholarships?

The mode of application for the scholarship is online. The candidate must have already received the admission letter from the foreign university and then apply for the Inlaks Shivdasani scholarships.

The steps to be followed for the application process are:

Step 1 - Visit the official Inlaks Scholarship official website at inlaksfoundation.org/

Step 2 - In the scholarships section, select “how to apply > applications instructions> apply.”

Step 3 - Upload the passport photocopy

Step 4 - Fill in the personal and academic details and university details like tuition fees, upload the necessary documents and submit the form

Step 5 - Later, submit the Letter of Recommendation through the referee’s official institution or organisation mail ID within the given time-line.

The eligibility criteria for the scholarship are as follows:

  • Any Indian passport holder.

  • The candidate must be born on or after 1st January 1995. (for the 2025 scholarship applications)

  • Degree(s) - From a recognised university in India.

  • If the UG degree is from abroad, the candidate must have resided (studied/employed) in India for at least 2 years after the completion of the degree.

  • PG-completed or currently undergoing students are not eligible.

  • Admission letter from an abroad university for a master's or PhD.

  • Academic Merit - For subjects like social sciences, humanities, law, fine arts, architecture, and related subjects, the required minimum academic grade is 65%, CGPA 6.8, or GPA 2.6.

  • For Mathematics, Sciences, Environment, and related subjects, the required minimum academic grade is 70%, CGPA 7.2, or GPA 2.8.

Courses that are not eligible under Inlaks Scholarships

The Inlaks Foundation, for the past few years, has stopped providing scholarships for the following courses mentioned:

  • Business and Finance
  • Computer Science
  • Engineering - Exception for Engineering and Natural Sciences course at Imperial College, London.
  • Fashion Design
  • Film and Film Animation - Exception for a Documentary filmmaking course
  • Hospitality and Tourism
  • Indian Studies without Contemporary Relevance
  • Management Studies (i.e. MBA)
  • Medicine, Dentistry, and related therapies
  • Music—Exception for Western Classical singing

Selection Process for the Inlaks Shivdasani Scholarships

The Inlaks selection committee will select the candidates for the Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation scholarships. The selection process will be held in three stages -

These are the take-off grants provided by the Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation. The take off grants provide financial support for projects which promote individual talents in any area, like art, music, education, law, photography, etc., without any restriction. These Inlaks take-off grants are tenable both in India and abroad. The financial support is provided up to USD 5000, and any Indian age below 36 can apply for this Inlaks grant.
