The Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation offers Inlaks Scholarship to students who wish to pursue their higher studies abroad. The Inlaks scholarship is offered to university courses and specific programmes.
The Inlaks scholarships are offered to university courses in top American, UK and European universities. This scholarship offers $85,000 to the students and if it is not sufficient to meet their expenses including tuition fee, the students must look for external resources for funding. The Foundation has joint scholarship schemes with the following universities and institutes:
Imperial College (London)
Royal College of Art (London)
School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS)(London)
London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA)
The prospective students from the following institutes applying for the scholarship need not look for external funding in case they are selected for Inlaks Scholarship.
The Foundation does not provide scholarships to the students who wish to pursue the following courses:
However, the prospective students from Imperial College from London are offered Inlaks Scholarships for Engineering and Computer Science.
The Inlaks Foundation also gives scholarships to individuals who pursue research, training and professional improvement abroad either independently or attached to a university which may not lead to a degree. The candidates must submit:

Eligibility to apply for Inlaks Scholarship
The scholarship is open only for Indian citizens. The candidates must be Indian citizens and residents of India during the time of application.
The candidate must be holding a first class undergraduate degree from a recognised university in India. The candidates who hold a foreign university undergraduate degree and wish to apply for the scholarship must have been working in India for at least two years after the completion of the course.
The candidates who hold a foreign university postgraduate or PhD degree are not eligible to apply. The candidates who have enrolled for a postgraduate programme abroad and did not complete it are also not eligible to apply for the scholarship.
The candidates must have obtained admission in a reputed university abroad during the time of application for the scholarship. The candidates with no admission and pending admission decision are not eligible to apply for the scholarship.
The candidates must be below the age of 30 years during the time of application. The candidates who have already stated their course in a university abroad are not eligible to apply.
Application checklist for Inlaks Scholarship
The candidates must submit the following documents during the application of Inlaks Scholarship:
Completed application form
Evidence that the candidate got admission in a foreign university
Proof of the financial requirements of the university
Candidates in architecture, fine and applied arts, and related subjects must submit a maximum of 10 samples of their work on a CD / DVD only, giving the size of the original, the material used and the date of completion
Candidates for Film, Dance, Acting and Music (Western classical singing) must submit three sets of CD / DVD
Evidence for any outstanding achievements and extracurricular activities
Up to three letters of recommendations (not mandatory)
The academic transcripts to be brought during the time of interview
Selection process for Inlaks Scholarship
The scholarship selection is held in three stages:
Stage 1: The candidates need to fill in the application form and send to the Inlaks office along with the given supporting documents before the deadline. The application forms are out in January. The applications must be mailed to:

Stage 2: The shortlisted candidates are called for an interview. The interviews are held in Delhi and Mumbai in May or June.
Stage 3: The selection committee selects the best candidates from the prelims to appear for the final round of the interview. The best finalists ar offered the scholarship.

Inlaks Scholarship value
The scholarship amount is up to $85,000 depending on the requirement of the candidate. The scholarship covers the tuition fee, living expenses and one-way ticket fare.
Inlaks - Imperial College Collaboration
The Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation has joined hands with Imperial College London to provide joint scholarships to Indian students who wish to pursue PhD course (4 years) or Master’s programme. The scholarship covers the full tuition fee, living stipend and air tickets.
