About M.Phil Statistics Research

Founded in 2015, research strengths of the Statistics Group at King’s College London design and analysis of experiments, Markov chain Monte Carlo and sequential Monte Carlo methods, time series. There will be regular seminars through which MPhil students can directly witness many new research results in the area presented by top-ranking scientists from around the world. MPhil students may seek supervision in all their fields of interest from among the staff members of the department.

Admission and Application

King’s College London accepts admissions for postgraduate courses throughout the year with varying deadlines. Most popular areas of study at King’s College for postgraduate courses are business, mathematics, humanities & engineering, finance, law, and health. Postgraduate applications must be submitted through the KCL application portal. Selected students will have to attend an interview invited by the King’s college through a link sent to the applicant's Email address. However, students are advised to submit applications as early as possible before the deadline to accommodate further procedures. 

How to Apply

  • Visit the King's College London application portal apply.kcl.ac.uk.

  • Create a New account with Name, Email and Date of birth.

  • Once registered, Choose the course from the list provided. 

  • Select the start date of the course.

  • Fill the application form with details of personal information, residency, nationality, education, employment.

  • Submit the following documents.

    • A personal statement

    • A research proposal statement and/or project approval form.

    • Official English translated academic Transcripts of all previous qualifications 

    • Two academic references.

    • English language proficiency test results.

    • Resume/CV

  • Review and submit the application.

Eligibility

  • A bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 63% or 7.7 out of 10 from a prestigious institution/65% or 8 out of 10 from a Recognised Institution/ 60% or 7.5 out of 10 from a highly prestigious institution.

  • IELTS score of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each component.

  • TOEFL IBT score of 92 with a minimum of 23 in writing and 20 other skills.

  • PTE Score of 62 with a minimum of 59 in each communicative skill.
