    About Brunel University, London

    Brunel University London is a public research university established in 1966 and granted university status by royal charter in the same year. Brunel is divided into three colleges, a structure that was implemented in August 2014 when the university's name was changed to Brunel University London. The three academic colleges are: the College of Business, Arts and Social Sciences; the College of Engineering, Design and Physical Sciences; and the College of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences.

    Brunel University London is ranked 401 in the World University Rankings by Times Higher Education and is ranked 412 in the QS World University Rankings 2023. Undergraduate and postgraduate degrees are available in aerospace engineering, anthropology, chemical and civil engineering, design, digital media, history, journalism, law, physiotherapy, sociology, and theatre.

    How to apply for Brunel University admission?

    Brunel University admission is open twice a year. Students can apply by November for courses beginning in January. While for September courses, students have to apply by July. International students applying to the university must follow the Brunel University admission process outlined below:

    UCAS:

    • Go to the official website of UCAS. 

    • Sign in using the email address and other details. 

    • Fill out a UCAS application by filling in all the required details.

    • Check and revise your personal statement.

    • Send your application to UCAS with a reference.

    • You can fully track your application once it is in the UCAS database.

    Online application for Brunel University admission:

    • Visit the official website at brunel.ac.uk

    • Find the course you would like to apply for using their course finder.

    • If the course is currently accepting applications, students will find the "Apply" button on the right side of the page.

    • Students can then complete the application form through their application portal.

    • After completing the application, submit all the required documents. 

    • Recheck the details carefully and pay the pre-requisite fee.

    India

    Brunel University courses ask for an English-level proficiency of IELTS 6.0 and 7.0 or equivalent. However, they also consider the following credentials as proof of English language abilities: 70–80 per cent in total (CBSE, ICSE, Maharashtra Board, and West Bengal Board). They also require three years of work experience prior to pursuing an MBA.

    Brunel University London accepts SAT, AP and ACT scores sent directly to Brunel from College Board and ACT.

    China

    A UK 2:1 (Second Class Upper), equivalent to a bachelor's degree with a minimum score of 75%-80%, or a UK 2:2 (Second Class Lower), equivalent to a bachelor's degree with a minimum score of 70%-80%. 

    Campus Life

    • Students have access to a variety of study resources at Brunel University campus life, including the library, designated quiet study spaces, and computer labs, to name a few.
    • Throughout studies, the university's student centre provides everything from financial to personal to academic support.
    • A gym, spa, and running track, as well as professional training and medical services, are offered at Brunel University facilities. 
    • There is also a pharmacy, a shop, a bar called Locos, a nightclub called Venue, and a coffee shop called "1966," named after the year the university was founded.
    • The Union of Brunel Students runs over 150 sports clubs and societies. Brunel University's student union is the Union of Brunel Students. The Hamilton Center on the Uxbridge campus houses the Union. The Union operates two venues on the Brunel campus: the Venue nightclub and Loco's bar, among other things.
    • Brunel University London is located in Uxbridge, which is only a short walk from a variety of shopping and entertainment options. It is only 20 minutes from Heathrow Airport and 40 minutes from central London. Brunel is also one of the rare London universities that has a campus.
    • There are many opportunities for students to earn while studying at the university, with Brunel's JobShop helping students find part-time opportunities on and off campus.
    • Brunel has excellent sports facilities and offers a wide range of sports, such as table tennis, badminton, basketball, football, hockey, swimming (off campus, in Uxbridge), squash, tennis, horseback riding, running, and many more.

    One of the main reasons that most international students choose to study at Brunel University is that the university has approximately 4500 rooms for undergraduate and graduate students within a 10-minute walk of campus. This makes finding housing simple and accessible for international students.

    Accommodations at the university include standard, en suite, and studio rooms. Students will also have access to free Wi-Fi, a communal kitchen, and a TV lounge, among other amenities. On campus, there are 34 self-catering halls of residence, totaling 4,549 rooms, including studio flats for cohabiting couples. Undergraduates, postgraduates, students with disabilities, and cohabiting couples can all rent a room.

    The Bannerman Center, located in the heart of campus, houses a four-story library with 400,000 books and 1,500 study spaces that are usually open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, during the academic year. The library has a help desk that is open daily from 9 AM to 7 PM.

    The University has a Computer Centre which is one of the many facilities university has on campus to make student's life easier. The team at the university work together to build a dynamic computing environment and high-speed networking infrastructure for the community.

    The University has provided a central service that allows students to print, photocopy and scan to e-mail in both monochrome and colour. Users can send their documents from any PC/small device that has been authenticated to the Brunel network.

    The University has a health center with a first aid facility for the students.

    Cafeteria

    There are lots of cafés, restaurants, and grocery shops on campus. The social hub of the university is the café, 1966 Costa, with its 100+ seats and study booths.

    Brunel University has excellent sports facilities, which rank among the best in the UK. These include:

    • Their on-campus gym has four training zones.

    • Indoor Athletics Center

    • Two multi-purpose sports halls and one netball hall are available for basketball, badminton, netball, volleyball, martial arts, and a variety of other sports at the Sports Centre.

    • Sports Park includes a 3G pitch.

    Transportation

    Transport Facility

    There are several ways to get to the university. It takes about twenty minutes to walk from Uxbridge town centre to campus, which is only about a mile from the centre of Uxbridge. The public modes of transport include the London underground and buses. Students can also cycle because the campus is on a recommended, well-marked cycling route. Students who live in residence halls are not permitted to keep a car on campus. As a result, the university's car club, run in collaboration with Hertz, ensures that students can still access a car whenever they need one.
