RMIT University Eligibility

Candidates must meet all the relevant entry requirements to be eligible for courses at RMIT University. The university has set a few guidelines for academic and English language requirements for different programmes at the university. Only qualified candidates of both the entry-level can apply for admission to the institution. The required eligibility is mentioned below:

Academic Requirements for Undergraduate Programmes

  • Candidates must be at least 16 years of age on the commencement date of the chosen programme.

  • A qualification at a higher AQF level or equivalent examination

  • An equivalent overseas qualification

Academic Requirements for Postgraduate Programmes

  • A bachelor's degree

  • Advanced professional experience in the relevant field

Academic Requirements for Research Programmes

  • A bachelor's degree with at least four years of full-time study

  • Appropriate academic qualifications evidence that satisfies the Associate Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research Training and Development (ADVC RT&D)

  • A master's degree with at least a 25% score, including a research component 

English language requirements 

To get admission to RMIT University, international candidates must show their proficiency in the English language for their selected course if English is not their first language. To fulfil this criterion, they can appear for various English tests such as IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, or CAE. The test scores are only valid for 24 months. 

If a candidate does not have an IELTS score or English test equivalent, they can still sit in a placement test at RMIT English Worldwide by contacting their agent or the RMIT training to arrange their placement test.

RMIT Library is a network of central libraries spread across four locations in three campuses in Australia, Melbourne, Bundoora, and Brunswick. The four libraries are Swanston Library, Brunswick Library, Bundoora West Library, and Carlton Library. Swanston Library is the largest library in the network and also among the top five libraries in the whole of Melbourne. 

RMIT Vietnam has two libraries, Beanland Library and Hanoi Library.
