The School of Information was established as a part of the University of California, Berkeley which is a part of the Division of Computing, Data Science, and Society. The School of Information offers various professional master’s degrees and an academic doctoral degree. It also offers the MIMS program which focuses on small classes and project-based learning and the MIDS program focuses on the importance of big data by training data scientists about it. The MICS program trains cybersecurity leaders about the field of cybersecurity and its challenges. The School of Information was developed to teach the students about the cutting-edge research of cybersecurity, biosensing, digital humanities, and information policy.

The library holds a huge collection specialising in different subjects and areas including cyber security, data science, etc. The library has a huge collection of books, databases, e-journals, articles, newspapers, magazines, etc. The library also has spaces for individual and group study. Other services including scanning, photocopying, etc are also available inside the library.
