    Harvey Mudd College was founded in 1955 with the aim of offering education in the areas of engineering, science, and mathematics. The college officially started functioning in 1957 with forty-eight students and a faculty of seven people. Harvey Mudd College offers major programmes in areas of biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, humanities, arts & social sciences, and other off-campus major and joint programmes in chemistry and biology, computer science and mathematics, mathematical and computational biology, and mathematics and physics.
