    About M.Sc Criminology and Criminal Justice

    The M.Sc in Criminology and Criminal Justice is a challenging and engaging program that offers intensive learning in small groups. It is designed to provide you with an advanced understanding of crime and the criminal justice system. The program consists of various courses, including criminological theory, the study of criminal justice, and training in research design and methodology. 

    The program is divided into compulsory and optional modules. The compulsory modules are conducted on a weekly basis during the first two terms. These modules cover topics such as-

    • Criminological Theories and Criminal Justice in Michaelmas and Hilary terms,
    • Research Design and Data Collection in the Michaelmas Term,
    • Academic Skills for Criminologists.

    In addition to the compulsory modules, there are also optional modules available. These modules run for eight weeks in each term and cover a range of topics. Some recent examples of optional modules include:

    Admission and Application

    For applying to the University of Oxford, students need to follow the procedure discussed below-

    • Students need to apply to the University of Oxford through the online UCAS application form.
    • While filling the UCAS application form, students will need to enter their education details, personal details, letters of reference. In addition to that, applicants also need to write a personal statement explaining why they have chosen the course they have applied for.
    • After filling all the details, applicants need to pay the UCAS application fee before submitting their forms.
    • Additionally, students also might have to clear few exams before getting admissions to the University of Oxford. Also, Oxford requires submission of a written work for offering admissions to many of its courses.
    • Shortlisted candidates also have to go through an interview round.
    • Final admissions will be offered to candidates based on exam results and other eligibility requirements.
