About Nazarene Theological College

Nazarene Theological College also known as NTC was established more than seventy years ago at West Hurlet House, near Glasgow. In 1959, the college moved to the White House in Didsbury and incorporated Beech Lawn Bible College of Stalybridge. BA (Hons) in Theology is the most popular course offered by Nazarene Theological College. Besides BA (Hons), NTC also offers other diploma and certification courses. Students can also get enrolled in postgraduate programmes and research degree programmes offered at Nazarene Theological College. 

Admission to the undergraduate programmes at NTC is based on UCAS application. Students can apply directly for diplomas, postgraduates, or other undergraduate courses. Applicants are required to pay an application fee of £30 and £40 for undergraduate and research programmes respectively. The campus also has accommodation facilities on a contractual and non-contractual basis for students.

Nazarene Theological College Courses

Nazarene Theological College offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes along with some short-term courses. The college offers 3 distinct BA degree programmes to step into Youth and Community Work, to explore ministry opportunities in Practical Theology and to build solid foundations in Biblical Studies. The institute also provides a Two-year Diploma course and a one-year Certificate course in Theology, Youth Ministry, or Urban Ministry. The MA in Theology and parallel Postgraduate Diploma or Certificate in Theology are also offered. PhD research programmes are available in 5 domains including Biblical Studies, both Old Testament and New Testament, Church History with particular strength in Wesley Studies, Christian Theology, Missiology, and Practical Theology.

  • Students applying to undergraduate programmes are required to have 2 A-levels or equivalent along with 1 academic reference. 

  • Candidates applying for postgraduate courses must have an honours degree in a relevant subject. However, Nazarene Theological College does not consider BA (Hons) for MA courses, students should have pre-MA studies for postgraduate level education along with 2 references.

Nazarene Theological College Accommodation

Nazarene Theological College offers on-campus accommodation to the students enrolled in the college. The housing residencies are 

  • Hurlet Halls. Ground floor

  • Hurlet Hall first floor

  • 4 flats in Hurlet Hall 

  • Beech Wing

Students are advised to maintain social distancing. Only residents of the housing residencies can enter the accommodation buildings. No visitors are allowed within the campus and students in Hurlet Hall are not allowed to go into Beech Wing and vice versa.

International Applicants are required to provide a certification in the English Language Proficiency. They are required to have a minimum IELTS score of 6.0, or its equivalent for undergraduate courses and a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 for postgraduate admission to the college.

Yes, there are separate halls for students at Nazarene Theological College. Students from different building are not allowed to visit other buildings. Housing residencies include Hurlet Halls and Beech Wing.
