Harvard Business School (HBS), Boston was founded in 1908 as a part of the Harvard University for offering business education. It was established as the world’s first MBA programme with a capacity of 33 regular students, 47 special students and having a faculty of 15 people. Later, in 1922 the HBS also introduced the doctoral programme. In the year 1924, a separate business school campus was also constructed and the academic departments of business management got shifted there. In 2013, Harvard Business School Online was also formed to offer academic programmes in areas including Financial Accounting, Business Analytics, Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Business Strategy, Data Science, Big Data, Financial Analytics, Healthcare Economics, Marketing, Negotiation etc.

The library of Harvard Business School holds a huge collection of books and other informative resources in the areas of business and management. The study materials are available in both printed and electronic form. Other facilities for copying, scanning, borrowing etc are also available. Librarians are also available to assist the students regarding any information related to books. In addition to that, there are also individual and group study spaces available inside the library.
