The Darden School of Business is the public business school of the University of Virginia located in Charlottesville. It has its other campuses located in Virginia, and Washington, D.C. and also has its field offices in the San Francisco Bay Area and Shanghai, China. The school is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). The school was established in 1955 named after Virginia Governor Colgate Whitehead Darden Jr. It was founded by Thomas Jefferson who also established the University of Virginia in 1819 which is recognised as one of the top public universities in the nation.
The Darden School of Business library offers learning, research and teaching by organizing, preserving and providing access to informative resources in all its formats. The library offers access to around 50 business and economics databases. The library also has a quiet place for students to study and offers additional services such as Darden printers and UVA Wireless. The library has a collection of 100,000 volumes and 800 current periodical subscriptions. The name of the library was kept for the Camp family of Franklin, Virginia, who supported building the library. The library remains open from 7:30 AM - 10 PM from Monday - Thursday, 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM on Fridays, 10 AM - 7 PM on Saturdays, and 10 AM - 10 PM on Sundays.
