Ternopil National Medical University was established in 1957. It is the leading Higher Medical Education Institution under the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. I.YA. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University offers Medical Education to its students in English and Ukrainian language. The duration and fees of the courses vary accordingly. The Preparatory Department of the University is also a part of the Faculty of International Students. It is a 10-month Preparatory Program that provides Ukrainian or Russian language courses, as well as chemistry, informatics, mathematics, physics and biology upgrading courses.
After successful completion of the preparatory program, students can continue their studies at the University, or they can go to any other university in Ukraine and apply for any Medical or non-Medical Program. The Preparatory Course is a must for those students who are going to pursue their Medical Education in the Ukrainian language. It is not for the students applying for programs/courses in the English language.
The courses or Degree Programs offered at the University include, the General Medicine (MD – Medical Doctor Degree, equivalent to MBBS) Program and the duration of the program is 6 years. PG Program in Public Health with a program duration of 2 years. Dentistry Program which is equivalent to Doctor of Dental Medicine, DMD and the duration of the program is 5 years. Bachelor and Master Degree Program in Nursing (BSN – Bachelor of Science in Nursing; MSN – Master of Science in Nursing) and the duration of the Bachelor Program is 4 years and the Master Program is 2 years.

Students applying for admission at I. YA. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University are required to give an Entrance Examination.
The Entrance Examination of the University will be conducted in the subjects of Biology and in any one of the languages of instruction(English/Ukrainian).
The students are required to inform the dean’s office of international students of TNMU at deans_office@tdmu.edu.ua, about how students wish to take the Entrance Examination either in written form or remotely using computer technology.

After receiving the above-mentioned documents, the University will send the detailed instructions to the applicant. The applicant must follow these instructions and an Official Invitation Letter for studying at I. YA. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University will be sent to the applicant’s address.
The Invitation Letter should be submitted to the Embassy of Ukraine in the applicant’s country of residence to receive a student visa.
Upon arrival at Ternopil National Medical University, students must submit the necessary documents in person to the Dean’s Office of international students. The documents required to be submitted are:

The University Housing Division is designed for the compact residence of international students. The structural unit of the University comprises dormitories No. 1, 2, 3, 4 and their respective surroundings. The students of the International Students Faculty live in dormitories No. 1, 2.
