About M.Sc Medical Physics with Radiobiology

The M.Sc in Medical Physics with Radiobiology is a comprehensive one-year program designed for individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in medical physics. This course is suitable for those interested in clinical or academic research roles, as well as professions that require a strong understanding of medical physics, such as radiation protection.

The primary objective of this course is to explore the utilization of ionizing and non-ionizing radiation in clinical practice, particularly in the fields of radiotherapy and medical imaging. Additionally, the course covers the fundamental principles of radiobiology at the molecular and cellular level, providing graduates with a deeper understanding of the effects of radiation compared to other medical physics courses.

Throughout the program, students will be required to complete eight mandatory modules. These modules are delivered in two-week intervals, with each module building upon the knowledge gained in the previous one.

  • Physics of Radiation Interactions
  • Molecular Radiation Biology
  • Radiobiology of Cells and Tissues
  • Radiation Safety
  • Ionising Radiation Imaging Technologies
  • Radiation Therapy Physics
  • Non-ionising Radiation Technologies
  • Translational Research Methods and Applications
