the cutoff for qualifying was40% in both sat,mat in sat i have scored 48 and in mat 40 but i have not been selected why when i have scored 40%in both?

Vignesh M A 21st Feb, 2020

Dear Daniyel,

Both the SAT and the MAT exams that you have taken are strictly percentile based.

Applicants appeared for the exams would have got more percentile that yours and that would be the reason for your rejection.

However you can take the exam in the next session and try scoring a percentile of more than 85 which may be a better chance to get qualified.

Best of luck.

How to prepare for M biology SAT? Books one should read? What is an optimum score for getting admission in prestigious foreign universities??

PRIYANKA MEENA 25th Feb, 2020
  • The Barron’s book and the Kaplan book are highly recommended..
  • Take a lot of practice tests. The more practice you do before the test, the better you’ll do on the test.
  • You're going to want a Biology SAT Subject Test Score in the 700s for highly selective colleges and universities .

I will be taking my SAT exam next month so I want to know details of what happens on the test date and etc since no one I know has taken it. It would be very helpful if you could give me your email id to clarify my doubts.

PRIYANKA MEENA 25th Feb, 2020

Your seat is assigned, not chosen by you. Wait to be seated. Here’s what will happen next:

  1. The test coordinator will read all instructions verbatim from a manual and can answer questions only about procedure, not about test questions or content.
  2. The test coordinator will tell you when to start and stop working on each section.
  3. You must work within each section of the test only for the time allotted.
  4. You may not go back to a section once that section has ended.
  5. You may not go ahead to a new section if you finish a section early.
  6. Do not skip sections. Doing so may result in score cancellation, delays, or both.
  7. After the test is finished, the test coordinator will collect and count the test books to make sure all materials have been turned in before dismissing you from the testing room.

What is the difference between subject SAT test and General SAT ???If one has to give SAT for biology what will be the syllabus ???

PRIYANKA MEENA 25th Feb, 2020

The biggest difference is that unlike the SAT, which tests general knowledge and critical reasoning, SAT Subject Tests are designed to measure knowledge in specific areas, such as biology, history, French, or math.

The books used mostly are The Kaplan book , The Barron's book.

I am going to complete my 11th standard in March 2020.Then can I write SAT exam in the month of June 2020.

PRIYANKA MEENA 25th Feb, 2020

SAT Test is conducted 7 times annually depending upon the region. It is held at least 5 times a year in most countries. SAT registration costs between USD 52.50 to USD 101.50 depending upon the country.

There are no specific eligibility criteria for SAT. It can be taken by any high school student. The best time for the students to give SAT exam is when they are in 10th and 11th class. This means SAT candidates are roughly 17 and 18 years old, however, there is no age limit or other SAT test eligibility requirement.

if i want to go to usa ( for BA course) What are the basic requiremnts that i need to have ?? Did i need to write SAT Exam ???(For BA...SAT for what ??). Is IELTS score enough? Is it necessary for me to get 90+ in class 12th?? Did a student with 80+ can apply for admission? Can you answer these ans.

PRIYANKA MEENA 25th Feb, 2020

Hey,

For admission in most of the colleges in US and Canada and other international universities, students needed to write SAT exam. It is for Undergraduate courses. IELTS is asked by the universities for testing the English profficency, but SAT is required for taking the admission.

Even TOEFL or good scores in 10+2 for English subject is enough for showing the English Profficency.

If you want to do BA then you might need not take subject SAT and only general SAT.

can anyone provide info about sat exam ??

PRIYANKA MEENA 25th Feb, 2020

SAT is a standardized test administered by the College Board and is required to be taken by students seeking admission to undergraduate schools. Applicants aspire to pursue undergraduate courses, particularly in the US and Canada, are required to take the SAT exam. If the student is looking to get admission to a particular course, s/he can take the SAT subject tests to show his knowledge and understanding of that particular subject. Subject tests are offered in areas like Literature, History, Mathematics, Sciences and Foreign Languages.

Candidates should be informed that there is no minimum or maximum age criteria fixed for students wanting to appear for the exam. General studies have shown that students belonging to the age group of 17 to 19 are among the highest to appear for SAT.
