    University of California Admission and Application

    Application deadline December,2023

    There are 2 different types of UC admission requirements for getting admitted to the undergraduate, and graduate programs at the University of California, Irvine. The steps have been mentioned below for both these programs.

    For Undergraduate Students

    Step 1: It is necessary to visit the official university website: https://admissions.uci.edu/apply/how.php.

    Step 2: Next, they will have to start the admission process by filling up the online application form.

    Step 3: When the form is filled up next students will have to pay a nonrefundable application fee of $80 for international applicants, and $70 for domestic applicants.

    Step 4: Around four weeks after the university receives a candidate’s application, they will review it properly.

    Step 5: Then the students can sit back, and check out the different financial aids available.

    Step 6: Then if the students are selected they will be informed, and will be asked to submit official documents like transcripts or letters of recommendation.

    For Graduate Students

    Step 1: Candidates are required to visit the university's official website: https://grad.uci.edu/admissions/applying-to-uci/index.php.

    Step 2: Next, they will have to start by filling up the online application form by choosing a specific degree.

    Step 3: When the form is filled up next students will have to pay a non-refundable application fee of $120 for U.S. citizens, and $140 for all other applicants.

    Step 4: Next, candidates will be needing to submit GRE and TOEFL or IELTS scores

    Step 5: Then the students will have to provide documents like transcripts, and letters of recommendation.

    Step 6: Next, the candidates will have to submit other supplemental materials if required by the UCI.

    Step 7: The candidates will be informed of their admission through the email address that had provided during filling their application form.

    University of California Eligibility

    For Freshman Applicants:

    • A fresher candidate will only be considered for admission if they are still studying in high school or have already graduated from high school but did not get enrolled in any regular sessions at any other college or university.
    • Another requirement for the freshman applicant is that they must receive at least a 3.0 GPA (3.4 for non-California residents) in the 15 required “a-g” subject courses, with a C in these courses.
    • Candidates must also have talents, achievements, or awards in fields like visual and performing arts,
    • Along with the above requirements, candidates will have to have outstanding work in special projects in any of their academic fields of study.
    • If a candidate did not have English as the medium of instruction in their secondary/high school then they will have to submit valid scores for any of the tests like ELA, SAT, TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo English Test, etc.

    For Transfer Candidates

    • Candidates must have completed courses that meet the general education requirements
    • The students should also have completed courses that provide continuity with upper-division courses in their major.
    • The transfer applicants should have a grade point average in all the different UC transferable courses.
    • Candidates must have a UC Transfer Pathway or an AA degree for transfer that is offered by the California Community College.
    • The students must have completed special projects that were undertaken during the college curriculum.
    • Candidates must have participated in selective honors courses or programs.
    • The applicants must have valid English proficiency scores to be enrolled in the UCI university.

    For Graduate Students

    • Students must possess a bachelor’s degree from any recognized academic university that has degree standards at par with the University of California.
    • Candidates must have an undergraduate minimum cumulative of 3.0 GPA.
    • Wherever applicable candidates may have to submit valid GRE scores.
