The University Library has a comprehensive collection of books and journals, both electronic and print, available from the Hartley and other campus libraries, plus a range of services to support teaching and research across all areas of the University.
The University's free Wi-Fi service is available across all of our campuses and in Halls of Residence.
The University Laboratory for Palaeoenvironmental and Environmental Science research, with stereo, petrological, and biological research-level microscopes, with the capacity for photomicroscopy on many.
The University room contains a mock court, including a judge's station and seating for advocates and observers. Here you'll practice presenting and arguing hypothetical cases (known as 'mooting'), in a mock court before local barristers and judges.
The University is where you'll have your lectures and classes. Each campus is a community of related subject areas, with study spaces, libraries, cafes, and restaurants. Some also have gyms and sports facilities. No matter which campus your studies are based on, you can use the facilities at any campus.
The University printers are commonly known as Multi-Functional Devices (MFDs) as they allow you to copy and scan too. You can print to any university printer and have 24 hours to release and collect it.
The University has a good networking for the alumni association.
The university Visitors will be given guest access to the University’s premises and a range of facilities defined by their sponsor. This may include:
A University visitor identity card to allow access to certain buildings. A University IT account A1 license to allow access to Outlook, the intranet, Office 365 web apps, and certain shared drives/folders. Access to the University Library.
The University Swimming Pool is located at the Jubilee Sports Centre on Highfield Campus. The facility is a 6-lane, 25-meter-long pool, with a depth ranging from 1 to 2 meters.
The University Sport offers a great range of fitness classes, designed to help you keep fit while also having fun! Our variety of classes cater to all abilities and fitness levels and offer something to suit everyone. The majority of our classes are free to Southampton Sports members but non-members are also very welcome - see 'Prices' for further information. All classes must be booked in advance - Southampton Sports members may book "free classes" online. If you do not yet have your login information, please contact reception at the Jubilee Sports Centre or Mayflower Gym.
The University Sport offers a wide array of facilities across Southampton for varying abilities and interests. Our facilities give everyone the chance to have fun, and get fit while doing it! With a range of fitness suites in separate locations, extensive outdoor pitches and courts, an athletics track, a ski slope, and a Watersports Centre, you are sure to find something here that will suit your needs.
The University has easy access on foot, by bike, or via Uni-link buses. The University is also well connected by road links, although parking availability is very limited.
