Queen Mary University of London, London

The university has three libraries across its five campuses. They are- Mile End Library, Whitechapel Library and West Smithfield Library. The largest library of Queen Mary University of London is located at Mile End. Both print and electronic materials are available at the university library. There are 420,000 print and 760,000 e-books, 44,000 e-journals, databases and other types of e-resources and archives and collections. The Qmul London Library Teaching and Learning Support team provides guidance and advice to the students and help develop them research and academic skills. The team provides support to taught postgraduates and postgraduate research students. Workshops, online resources and tutorials are also conducted by the team.

The university has computer labs equipped with a cluster of computers. The computer labs are also found in university libraries. The computer labs are equipped with printing facilities and a computer with standard managed desktop with internet and software access. Students can use the computer labs for research and academic purposes. The labs are also used for teaching purposes. The IT services also include photocopy and binding facilities. For any IT related support, students can contact IT service desk. There is no cost involved with the Queen Mary University of London IT services provided equipment. 

The IT department of Queen Mary University provides laptop on loan for a period of 8 hours. Per student is given on laptop on loan. All the residence halls of Qmul London have network connection points to easily connect with the university network through wireless network adaptor. The wired and wireless service is provided by Eduroam. Through the Eduroam connection, students can easily access their email, university websites, student service filestore and courses web server. 

Qmul wi-fi service is called Eduroam. Students have to connect to CAT in order to log in to the university wi-fi network. Students can avail free wi-fi service, wherever Eduroam is available. In order to connect to the Eduroam network, students have to log in with the username and password. Eduroam service provides both wired and wireless networks. Teaching areas and communal areas like library and halls have wi-fi facilities.

The hospitality and catering facilities of Queen Mary University of London is available across three primary campuses of the university- Mile End, Whitechapel and Charterhouse Square, Barbican. The Queen Mary Students’ Union hospitality and venue team offer corporate lunches, product launches, parties, drinks receptions and meeting refreshments. Conference facilities, cafes, bar & nightclub venues are also available. 

Ground Cafe- A range of food and drink including sandwiches, sushi, ethical fairtrade coffee, toasted paninis, pastries, baguettes, cakes, yoghurts, soft drinks, snacks, salads and refreshing smoothies is available here. The hot drink and cold drink menu include-

The Students’ Union of Queen Mary University of London offers a wide variety of sports and activities. The sports programmes are specially designed to improve the physical health and mental health of the students and provide opportunities to compete nationally and internationally. Queen Mary University of London has a recreational sports programme called Get Active. The programme offers play sessions, one-off events, structured courses and fun, social and relaxed environment. There is no requirement for specialist equipment or clothing in order to take part in the programme. 

For the residents of Queen's University London there are inter hall games. It is a kind of recreational sport with multiple events conducted throughout the year. In inter hall games, the activities are run in collaboration with the Residential Life team. In inter hall games, there are 22 halls with over 2600 enrolled students.

The Student’s Union’s sport and fitness centre called Qmotion is located on the Mile End campus. The centre is a three-floored building, equipped with gym, female-only gym, squash court, studio spaces and sports hall. Free personalised training programmes are conducted every 6 weeks by the qualified fitness instructors. 20 daily group exercise classes including yoga, HIIT, zumba and circuits are also conducted every week. There are no joining fees for great value memberships. Other facilities at the gym include-
