About Anglia Ruskin University

Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) is a public university in the United Kingdom located in East Anglia. The university was founded in 1858 and offers 150+ undergraduate and 100+ postgraduate programmes across four faculties, Faculty of Business and Law; Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences; Health, Education, Medicine & Social Care; and Science & Engineering. 

Most of the university courses are professionally accredited. Anglia Ruskin University has three libraries at three campuses in Cambridge, Chelmsford, and Peterborough each. Online collections of e-journals, e-books and world-rennowned  databases such as the IEEE, Wiley, are available for access 24/7. Borrowing, photocopying, returning and reserving books services are available. Libraries provide group work zones, silent study areas, PCs with network, WiFi, multimedia playback, and other standard IT applications. Libraries in ARU Cambridge and Chelmsford are kept open 24 hours during main assessment periods when semesters are ongoing. Anglia Ruskin Libraries also provide subject librarians who facilitate a comprehensive programme of study and information skills training in collaboration with subject faculty.

Anglia Ruskin University offers both competitive, and social sports for its students. The university offers around 20 sports clubs for both men and women. They include American football, Archery, Badminton, Basketball, Cricket, Fencing, Taekwondo, Ultimate Frisbee among others. Sports facilities at Cambridge campus include an on-campus tennis court along with off-campus Kelsey Kerridge Sports Centre that has a state-of-the-art bouldering wall, squash courts, indoor cricket nets, and an indoor sports hall. Chelmsford campus of  Anglia Ruskin University London has Mildmay Sports Hall that provides 4 badminton courts and facilities for netball, basketball, indoor cricket, and futsal.

Swimming Pool

Anglia Ruskin University Cambridge has swimming pools at both Cambridge and Chelmsford campuses. At Cambridge three pools are located in Parkside pools, an 8-lane, 25 metre swimming pool that is used for competitions, a teaching and diving pool with a movable floor, and a leisure pool for children. In addition, there are multiple swimming pools associated with Chelmsford campus at Riverside Leisure Centre and South Woodham Ferrers Leisure Centre (SWFLC). Riverside Leisure Centre has two swimming pools (25m x 10 lane), and learner pool (10m x 10m). One swimming pool at South Woodham Ferrers Leisure Centre (SWFLC) is 25m, and 6-lane with moving hydraulic floor.

Students of ARU Cambridge have access to Office 365, Microsoft Teams and Adobe Photoshop CS6 as standard, Mac and PC suites that are equipped with the latest software at all campuses whether they’re on-campus or in remote location. In addition, students studying at the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences have access to Adobe Creative Cloud software.
