Top 100 Engineering Colleges in World: American engineering colleges-The California Institute of Technology (Caltech) and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) -- are two of the most highly ranked technology schools among the top 100 engineering colleges in the world, according to major rankings-Times Higher Education (THE), Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) and The Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU).

Among the countries, the USA has the highest presence in the top 100 engineering colleges in the world. Most of the top five spots are captured by American universities.  Other countries that feature in the list are United Kingdom, Singapore, Japan, Germany, Australia and so on. While US and UK maintain a stronghold on the ranking list, Germany is among the best represented country.

The ranking platforms have taken five major yardsticks in rating the universities- i.e., teaching, research, Industry income, citations and international outlook while ranking the Top 100 Engineering Colleges in World 2017. THE has covered the ranking for 2016-17, ARWU for 2016 while QS for 2015. According to THE World University Ranking 2017,Stanford University, University of Oxford, MIT, and Cambridge follow Caltech as the best engineering colleges in the world. QS puts MIT in the first position followed by Stanford, Cambridge and National University of Singapore (NUS).

 

In the top 100 Engineering Colleges in World, ARWU takes citations as one of the major yardsticks and hence ranks Nanyang Technological University, Tsinghua University and King Abdulaziz University besides MIT and Stanford.
