University of Chicago appoints Bharath Visweswariah as executive director of UChicago Center in Delhi
University of Chicago has appointed Bharath Visweswariah to be the executive director for their soon-to-open Center in Delhi, with effect from 10 February. An experienced business and management consultant in India, Bharath Visweswariah will supervise administrative functions and staffing at the UChicago Center in Delhi and create and implement a strategic plan along with taking other responsibilities.

Founded in the year 1890, the University of Chicago is a private research university in the USA that is consistently ranked among the top 10 universities of the world. As an illustration of their willingness to build relationships in India and throughout the region, the University of Chicago announced last year that an UChicago center will be opened in Delhi by March 2014.
Commenting on the new development, Visweswariah said, “It is an honor to join this global community of faculty, staff, alumni, and students and I look forward to meeting new colleagues at the Center in Delhi opening in March, and whenever faculty, alumni or students travel in South Asia.”
According to the University of Chicago, the UChicago Center in Delhi will promote teaching and scholarship across the below mentioned domains:

- Business, economics, law and policy
- Science, energy, medicine and public health
