University of British Columbia announces India Scholarships
The University of British Columbia is earmarking a quarter of a million dollars in non-public funds to support merit-based scholarships for Indian students entering any one of UBC’s undergraduate degree programs.
The University will be offering 11 Outstanding International Student awards with $10,000 CAD each, and five International Major Entrance Scholarships with $28,000 CAD each, or $7,000 a year for four years, to international students from India.
The award, to be tenable for September 2015, will be given to students who can demonstrate academic achievement, intellectual promise, as well as extracurricular and community involvement.
In addition, Indian schools can also nominate their most outstanding students who also have financial need for UBC’s International Scholars Program.
The UBC International Scholars Program provides full need-based funding to approximately 25 - 27 exceptionally gifted international undergraduate students entering UBC each year, covering tuition as well as cost of living for the duration of their 4-year degree. There are currently 130 fully-funded International Scholars at UBC from 46 different countries, including a number from India.
