UCD launches first global centre in India
The University College Dublin (UCD) has announced the launch of first global centre in India. The University from Ireland has launched the global centre in Gurgaon.
The launch of the UCD global centre falls in line with the University’s new Global Engagement Strategy for UCD, to be launched in 2015. Besides India, the UCD global centres have been launched in New York, Beijing and Kuala Lumpur.
According to UCD, the Global Centre will enhance the university’s valuable existing relationships with high schools, partner institutions, agents, students and parents and contribute greatly to expanding new links and relationships in India. It will provide a base for the development of a network of productive and sustainable partnerships, along with increasing awareness of the opportunities that UCD can offer in India.
The university also plans to forge broader collaborations in education and support UCD students in their mobility to study and undertake work placements in India; support the development of new research collaborations and networks; identify and leverage new sources of collaborative research funding, and communicate the impact of research at UCD, globally and in the region.
The University College Dublin is one of Ireland’s largest and most international universities with over 30,000 students of which over 6,000 are international representing 127 countries worldwide.
