Ohio State University partners with Aligarh Muslim University
The Ohio State University, USA partners with the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) to introduce a pilot project in India to meet the growing demands of science, technology, engineering and mathematics- STEM faculty.
The US secretary of state John F Kerry signed six Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with India’s Human Resource Development minister MM Pallam Raju with an aim to strengthen the ties between the US and India to promote and bring development in the higher education sector.
The aim of the partnership is to promote STEM faculty in India and provide world class facilities for the same. The partnership also aims at establishing a STEM-Education and Research (ER) Centre at Aligarh Muslim University.
The STEM-ER aims at having interdisciplinary collaborative projects in innovation and advanced research in the fields such as IT, mathematical research, cancer research, renewable energy, environmental sciences, nanotechnology and spectroscopy.
