New Zealand International Doctoral Research Scholarships 2017 - Applications are open for international students who want to pursue PhD degree from eight participating universities of New Zealand. The scholarships is open across domains and offers complete tuition fees along with a stipend for up to 3 years.

Awarding Institute / Body:  New Zealand Government

Field of Study: Any PhD level degree offered by the participating universities

Participating Universities: New Zealand Universities: AUT University, Lincoln University, Massey University, University of Auckland, University of Canterbury, University of Otago, University of Waikato and Victoria University of Wellington

 

Eligibility: To be eligible to receive the New Zealand International Doctoral Research Scholarships, applicants must:

  1. Must hold a minimum grade equivalent to a GPA of 3.7 on a 4.0 scale or an A to A+ average in their most recent or highest post graduate tertiary qualification

  2. Must have a confirmed, non-conditional offer of place for a (direct-start) PhD programme at a New Zealand university

  3. Must conduct their PhD study in New Zealand (not from a distance)

  4. Must not hold citizenship or PR status in New Zealand or Australia.

Besides the above, candidates who are already engaged in a PhD programme must have started their research studies after 1st July, 2015.

 

How to Apply: Candidates need to apply for New Zealand International Doctoral Research Scholarships 2017 by downloading the form.  Candidates have to send the application form along with statement of purpose, academic transcripts, latest CV, recommendation letters and scores of IELTS or TOEFL to the Education New Zealand.

Value of Scholarship: The New Zealand International Doctoral Research Scholarships covers the following for a TOTAL of three years (36 months):

  1. New Zealand University annual tuition fees and associated student levies

  2. An annual living stipend of NZ$25,000 per year (tax free)

  3. Medical insurance coverage up to NZ$600 annually
