Applications are open for the Korean Government Scholarship Program 2016 to pursue Bachelors, Masters or Doctoral degrees from a Korean University or Institution designated by the National Institute for International Education (NIIED), South Korea. Interested candidates from India can apply online through the Ministry of Human Resource Development. Under this scholarship program, a total of sixteen nominations will be sent to the Korean Government, out of which, eight candidates will be selected.

 

Awarding Institute / Body:  Korean Government and designated by NIIED.

 

Field of study: The scholarship is awarded in the following fields of study:

  1. Korean Language

  2. International Relations (Including Korean Studies)

  3. Bio-technology

  4. Electrical Engineering

Eligibility: To apply for Korean Government Scholarship Program 2016, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Applicant must be under 40 years of age as of 1st September, 2016 (born after 1st September, 1976)

  • For applying Master Degree and Doctoral degree, applicants must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree as of 31st August, 2016.

  • Candidates who have already received Korean scholarship at any time will not be eligible.

Value of Fellowship: Important benefits covered under the Korean Government 2016 Scholarship Program program include:

Monthly Allowance

900,000 won (KRW) per month

Research Allowance

  • 210,000 won for students in Humanities And Social Sciences
  • 240,000 won for students in Natural and Mechanic Sciences per semester.

Relocation Settlement Allowance

200,000 won

Language training fee

Full Coverage

Tuitions

Note: All admission fees are waived by the host institution (University). The tuition is paid by NIIED.

Dissertation Printing Cost

500,000- 800,000 won, depending on the actual cost

Medical Insurance

200,000 won per month (Limited Coverage)

Special Funding for Scholar (Proficient in Korean Language (Level 5 or 6)

100,000 won per month (Commencing from the degree program)
