Indian scholars meet New Zealand PM
Nine New Zealand India Sports Scholarship recipients met New Zealand Prime Minister John Key at the India New Zealand Business Summit in Auckland. The summit themed- Growing with India – inspire, innovate, grow was also attended by members of the business community of both the countries and provided an opportunity to the scholars to Zealand to learn more about business.
Noting the role of the council in nurturing the education collaborations, Chairman of Business summit, Sunil Kaushal said, “It is wonderful to be able to introduce the very talented sports scholarship students to the business community as sports management and training is a growing business. RitikaBhargava, qualified as physiotherapist in New Zealand and won ‘Best Young Entrepreneur of the Year’ at the Indian Business Awards last year for building up a successful chain of physiotherapy clinics in New Zealand”.
The summit was also attended by ZienaJalil, Regional Director South and South East Asia at Education New Zealand, New Zealand’s High Commissioner to India-Graham Morton, ENZ Ambassador- Stephen Fleming.
“Sports is a growing area of interest globally and we are proud of the extensive range and quality of sports related programmes offered by our institutions. The interest in the NZISS programme in India indicates the variety of fields in addition to business and engineering that Indian students have started considering when it comes to international education,” Mr. Morton said at the summit.
