ETS launches 2016 TOEFL Scholarship program for Indian students
TOEFL Scholarship Program for Indian students: Educational Testing Service (ETS) has launched the TOEFL scholarship program for the academic year 2016–2017, under which 15 scholarships, with a total value of US$105,000, will be awarded to students from India with outstanding academic credentials.
The new scheme for Indian students will cover both graduate and undergraduate studies abroad.
Speaking about the intent behind the new scholarship program, Jennifer Brown, Executive Director of the TOEFL program, pointed out that ETS has been offering TOEFL Scholarship Program in India each year with the objective of helping students achieve their academic goals. The new program, she emphasized, is just an extension of that, but only now with more aid and number of recipients.
Applicants will be judged on parameters like English-communication skills, academic record, leadership skills and extracurricular activities.
In addition, to be eligible for the TOEFLscholarship award, an applicant must:
Be a resident of India
Start undergraduate or graduate study between June 2016 and May 2017 at a university or college listed in the TOEFL Destination chart
Have a GPA of 80 or higher on a 100-point scale, or a 3.0 grade-point average or higher on a 4-point scale
demonstrate English proficiency with a valid TOEFL score
submit TOEFL scores as proof of English Language proficiency
Deadline: Interested students need to apply online between May 19 and June 21.
