German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) announces scholarships for the international students, especially the ones from developing countries who want to study in Germany for various post graduate courses. DAAD Scholarships are aimed at young professionals who wish to further specialize in any area.
About DAAD Scholarships
The DAAD scholarships are given to the students from developing countries who study any relevant post graduate courses in German universities for one to two years. The scholarship is being given to the young professionals who hold major positions in organizations from various developing countries.
Value of DAAD Scholarships
The awarding body will pay the award holder a sum of EUR 750 every month. Apart from that, the liability insurance, cost of health and accidents etc will also be paid by the awarding body. The travel expenses and other major expenses are already covered in the scholarship programme. DAAD also gives an annual research grant for the scholars. However, the awarding body will not pay towards the additional amounts such as the university enrolment fee, semester ticket etc.

Eligibility to apply for DAAD Scholarships
The candidate must have a bachelors Degree
The candidate must be below the age of 36 years. For some courses, the candidates must not exceed the age of 32 years.
The candidate must be working with a public authority or a private company in a developing country with work experience in development field
Language requirements for DAAD Scholarships
For courses in English:
IELTS: Minimum band score of 6
TOEFL: A minimum score of 550 for paper based test and 213 for computer based test
For courses in German:
The candidate must have German skills at A2 completed level. They must also have German language courses at the level A3 or B1.
How to apply for DAAD Scholarships?
The candidates can apply for DAAD Scholarship either through German Embassy or DAAD regional office.
Application deadline for DAAD Scholarships
At DAAD Regional Office or German embassies: 31 July, 2013
At the respective universities in Germany: 30 September or 15 October, 2013
