Ten Indian students have been awarded the New Zealand India Sports Scholarship to pursue sports programmes in New Zealand.

The winners will study courses ranging from bachelor degrees in sport and exercise to postgraduate study in sports physiotherapy and clinical exercise physiology.

The scholarships, which are valued at over Rs. 2 crores in total, were awarded to the students by New Zealand Minister for Primary Industries Mr Nathan Guy, New Zealand High Commissioner to India H.E. Mr Grahame Morton and former New Zealand Black Caps captain and Education New Zealand Brand Ambassador Stephen Fleming, at a high profile event hosted at the New Zealand High Commission in New Delhi.

The scholarship will fund first year tuition fees towards each student’s fulltime study in New Zealand and includes an additional stipend to cover a year’s living costs.

AUT University, Southern Institute of Technology, Southern Institute of Technology, University of Otago, University of Waikato, Unitec New Zealand, UCOL are some of the Universities where the scholarship holders will study.
