About MCAT 2019
The Medical College Admission Test or the MCAT 2019 is an examination for medical admission accepted in the United States, Canada, Australia and the Caribbean Islands. This entrance test is for prospective MD students who want to pursue medical education in the aforementioned countries and is conducted by the Association of American Medical Colleges or AAMC. The MCAT is a computer-based test which evaluates a candidate’s understanding and knowledge of various scientific concepts which are a requisite for a career in the medical and healthcare domain. The scores for MCAT 2019 are only valid for up to 3 years. In some colleges and universities, only score up to 2 years old are accepted.
MCAT 2019 will be conducted in 18 countries including the United States and it’s territories. Each country in which the MCAT exam is conducted has around 1–5 centres at which the test is administered and the USA and Canada have over 30 centres at which the test is administered.

A candidate is eligible to give the MCAT 2019 exam if he or she is interested in pursuing an educational course in the domain of healthcare and medicine. This includes the following programs:
- Podiatric (D.P.M.)
- Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.)
- Any other healthcare or medicine related program which requires MCAT scores in order to meet admission criteria.
Upon registration for the MCAT 2019 exam, a candidate is required to submit a statement which verifies the candidate’s interest and intention toward applying to a program in a health professions school.
International students who are enrolled in an MBBS program are not required satisfy any other additional eligibility requirements.
International candidates who are pursuing a program in healthcare and medicine other than MBBS or have no immediate intention in pursuing a profession in healthcare and medicine are required to obtain special permission in order to be eligible for the MCAT 2019 exam. Details for the special permission process are given on the official MCAT web portal on the AAMC website.

In order to apply for the MCAT 2019 exam, candidates must complete the registration process online.
- Candidates must create an Association for American Medical Colleges (AAMC) account via the official registration link on the AAMC web portal.
- Candidates must fill all the required details in the application form in order to complete the registration process. Candidates should register at least 60 days prior to the exam in order to ensure a seat in the exam.
- Candidates can then select the required test date and preferred test centre for the exam.
- The final step in the application/registration process is the payment of exam/registration fees which can only be done online.
The registration fee for the MCAT 2019 varies with the date of registration prior to the exam and is classified into three categories:
- Gold Zone Deadline (29 days prior to the exam date)
- Silver Zone Deadline (15 days prior to the exam date)
- Bronze Zone Deadline (8 days prior to the exam date)
For International candidates, an additional international fee is applicable on the normal exam fee. All fees are to be paid in USD.

Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems

Chemical and physical foundations of biological systems
Complex living organisms transport materials, sense their environment, process signals, and respond to changes using processes that can be understood in terms of physical principles.
The principles that govern chemical interactions and reactions form the basis for a broader understanding of the molecular dynamics of living systems.
Psychological, social, and biological foundations of behavior
Biological, psychological, and sociocultural factors influence the ways that individuals perceive, think about, and react to the world.
Biological, psychological, and sociocultural factors influence behavior and behavior change.
Psychological, sociocultural, and biological factors influence the way we think about ourselves and others, as well as how we interact with others.
Cultural and social differences influence well-being.
Social stratification and access to resources influence well-being.
Scientific inquiry and reasoning skills

The MCAT 2019 exam has a duration of 6 hours and 15 minutes and an overall seated duration of 7 hours and 27 minutes which includes the breaks, optional sections as well as the additional questions which are not a part of the actual scored exam.

The result for the MCAT 2019 exam will be available for the candidates online approximately 30-35 days after the test day. These results can be viewed and downloaded using a candidate's AAMC account.
MCAT 2019 Scores:
The MCAT 2019 result will have 5 different scores; 4 scores for the individual sections of the MCAT 2019 exam and one score which is an aggregate of all four sectional scores.
Each of the four MCAT sections are scored on a 118 to 132 point scale. The fifth and final score which is the aggregate of the four sectional scores is scored on a scale of 472 - 528.

Eligibility criteria for MCAT is
- Student must have MBBS degree
- Candidate must have permission from AAMC authorities.

So you have to prepare for NEET. Get a good NEET score to get an admission into MBBS stream in medical college.
After completion of UG , you can prepare and appear for MCAT.

In the US, Medicine is usually studied after Pre Medical Course. In Indian standards it is Bachelor's degree. You have to complete your Pre Medical Course and then study Medicine if you want to study Medicine in the US. That's the reason MCAT is usually taken up after your Graduation or Pre Medical Course. But NEET is taken after 12th in India. But you cannot study Medicine in the US with your 12th qualification.

am preparing for neet 2020 but my family might move to Canada this year so if I want to join in Canada medical college ,is it enough for me to give neet or should I also give the MCAT exam?
Aarthi, NEET is the entrance examination for admission to Medical,Dental, Ayush and Veterinary courses across India. Now NEET is also mandatory to study MBBS abroad. This is the requisite for you as an Indian Citizen to study MBBS abroad. And MCAT is a requisite by countries like Australia, Canada, US etc to check your readiness and knowledge to study Medicine in their country. It is their requisite. So you have to appear for both NEET and MCAT.
Hii...I wanted to enquire if an agriculture bsc student can appear for MCAT?
To be eligible for Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) you need to have a MBBS degree and for other courses you need to have a special permission from AAMC authorities.
- Also for giving MCAT a student must have interest in Allopathic, Osteopathic, Podiatric and Veterinary.
