As you come closer to the application season of US universities, you feel the pressure of deadlines following the rush for SOPs, recommendation letters and of course, financial aids.

This is where you can take advantage of the flexibility provided by US education system and apply under the early admission plan.

Early admission plans are becoming increasingly popular, with many of the top universities and colleges in the USA offering the program.

However, what can leave you confused is whether you should apply under the Early action plan or Early decision plan?

It is important to understand that although early Action and Early Decision fall under the same admission programme, still there are big factors differentiating the two.

Although both the plans are equally attractive, you might find some points here which could give clarity to your decision.

Some of the factors are:

Early ActionEarly Decision
Early action is non-binding on the applicant.Early decision is binding on the applicant.
Applicant can apply early action to many colleges.Applicant cannot apply to more than one college under early decision.
Usually receive admission notification by January or FebruaryUsually receive admission notification by December.
Applicants do not have to withdraw all other applications if accepted by Early ActionThe applicant has to withdraw all other applications if accepted by Early decision.
Early action has only one deadline. Some colleges have two early deadlines, called early decision deadline I and deadline II. They both work the same way, but deadline II gives you more time to decide whether to apply early.
If you are accepted, you can accept right away or wait until spring to decide. You have to accept when the offer for admission is made.

How to get admission in university to do phd (computer science). How to approach university. Can i do Phd after completion of msc?

Ina 6th Feb, 2020

Hope you're doing well.

Yes, you can do PhD after completion of M.Sc, Even you can do Integrated PhD while perusing your M.Sc. For PhD, you must need to complete your masters in the same area of specialization.

Most Universities/Colleges offer admission based on the score of CET (like UGC NET) or conduct their own entrance test (like JNU) for admission into Ph.D. courses hence students would have to make an application for such exams.

For Reference of colleges here is the link:

Thank you.

All the best for your bright future.
