The international student card provides a lot of offers and special discounts for students. Hence, it is better to get the international student card.
Accommodation booking and other documents
Certain countries ask for accommodation details while applying for student visa. Mostly, good universities provide accommodation to students. It is strongly advisable to have confirmation for accommodation booking (on-campus or off-campus), foreign currency (cash/travelers cheque/credit card) and airport pickup details.
While traveling, make sure to keep all required travel documents in your hand bag so that it can be produced when demanded. Students are advised to ensure that everything is properly dated, signed and notarized. Without proper travel documents, you can be denied entry or won’t be able to return on your own. Do keep copies of these documents and leave them with someone at home – that way if something is lost or stolen, your family members can fax the copies to you. Getting them replaced in a foreign country is time-consuming and is almost impossible.
